28 all draw. Great result for the Kings, who also pick up a 4-try bonus point...

Did not expect this, congrats to the Kings!
They may just be what the S15 needs, already an improvement on the dismal Lions
Jake White must be missing the guys that were raised when meat was cheap!

Extremely happy with the result. Brumbies were flat and unimaginative not to mention probably suffering from a little jet lag, but even if we take them as a middling team I'll take 3 points away any day.

Looking at the starting line-up I actually thought we had given up the game as a loss, with a lot of our usual starting forwards being rotated but our reserves fronted up quite well, and players like Maku and Engelbrecht made a marked difference when they came on. We're still making far to many errors, 17 penalties, 4 kicks out on the full and a yellow card is no way to play rugby, we just gave the Brumbies the majority of the possession and territory and were lucky they couldn't make proper use of it most of the time.

There are a lot of encouraging signs though, our defense is as resolute as ever and our loose forwards are operating like a well oiled machine. If we curb these errors, and get some creative flair in our back-line we could really develop into a serious threat in a few years.

Stormers yeah, but I'm from the Eastern Cape, I still love the Stormers, and I've always supported all the SA teams, but you have to support your own people, don't you agree? ;)

I used to support the Chiefs but now that my home team is in the comp, I need to support the Rebels especially because rugby isn't very popular in Melbourne compared to other football codes. I totally agree with SomeOke. still love the chiefs too!

well done to the kings, they were a surprise packet tonight. hope the rebels are prepared for them next game

Fair enough, I don't see rugby as just an entertainment media though. I grew up with some of these guys. On tour the opposition hosted us, and we hosted them, rugby is so deeply ingrained in our culture I don't see it as a choice of better chicken vs worse chicken. It's about loyalty to our countrymen, regardless of whether they are "better" or "flashier".
Sorry to get all preachy but I think that's the way most people feel.

Why chicken?

Just watching this "as live". Heard good things about the game

I really don't care if one supports the South Vietnam dairy association 4th team, but when they do what they did to the Stormers by booing them when they got of the bus it is shocking.
A sorry ass sad section of the Cape community - go read Habana and Aplon's twitter remarks and if the shoe fit, wear it.
Just don't say "but why" when for no reason someone gives you a PK just for the heck of it

you = those that fit the shoe

Just seen the game, a very good game with a very crazy ending.

Keep in mind iceman that, unlike our Super Rugby franchise system, not everywhere in South Africa is represented. Eastern Cape had no representation before the Kings; Gauteng has no representation now that the Lions are out of it.

It would be like being a rugby supporter living in Adelaide. Which Aussie team would you support?

If it was, say, the Waratahs, would you still support them if Super Rugby was expanded and included a team from South Australia?

King played 3 level above what they normally can do. Some changes in the Brumbies in the team may have also disrupted the good form.

There's no rule saying you must support your home team. I live in southern New Jersey, and since we don't have any local pro sports here the tradition has always been to support Philadelphia teams, since we live in the 'shadows' of that city. However, there are locals who support NY teams, or Baltimore teams, and some that even support Dallas or LA or Chicago teams.

We have a few local rugby clubs, just amateur stuff, and when I can I try to get out and watch one of their matches. Do I support them? Sure, but my club team will probably always be the Crusaders, since those are the guys who first got me into the game.

In other words, support who you like, but be respectful of all. I would hate to see rugby fans turn into football hooligans, but I fear the younger generations of fans may do just that unless someone sets them straight before it gets out of hand.

Sorry, I kinda rambled there.

Kings have been impressive, imho. I think having experienced Super Rugby players like Sykes on the team has made them surprisingly competitive. They're still at the bottom of the pack, but still doing better so far than the likes of the Highlanders. I think they may end up impressing us before season's end.

Great end to this match - very exciting!

Waylon Murray has been very impressive in the last two games, I thought.

Kings got three points, Brumbies got two. There is a winner here.

Dude that is the US this is SA. We have hundred years of provincial rivalry as well as the rivalry build up in isolation due to not having any international rugby for a long time. So its way different.
