Suggestions/ideas for Rugby 2012

People who still say JLR is still a good game clearly haven't played it in a long time. It's actually a very clunky unresponsive affair which can't hold a candle in the modern games world any more then World Cup 95 on the Mega Drive. Nostalgic nonsense from people who remember it while yearning for the amateur era.

What I don't understand, is people who say "I don't care about licensing or graphics, I want it to have the same game play as JLR (usually not as well articulated as that, but never mind), and I'm left thinking, "why buy a new game at all, if all you're interested in is JLR?"

I have played it, and it was good. For a rugby game released in 1997. EA Rugby 06 and 08 were much more the finished article. Aside from the graphics, it has better gameplay. There were aspects of rugby that JLR captured very well, but there were plenty that it was really missing. The constant moaning about the EA Rugby series, which I still play today, makes me wonder why HB continues to make rugby games.

7s Ignored because there is not that much of demand for it, fact ... come the time of the Olympics then yes there shall be a demand for it. The time it will also cost to make the engine for it will also eat out of a small budget.

They have said no manager mode big wow ... not said no season mode yet!

Advanced editing ... cant really do it on consoles so not much of a problem!

We dont really know the license for the SH has really all gone, no matter how much SIDHE say they have got what!

First Rugby game on the 'next generation' of gaming consoles is one for you. People need to get realistic about this game ... maybe like thinking Holland is not in South Africa for instance.

Ha Ha...way too many locals were supporting Holland when they played here in the fifa world cup...i was 100% Bafana Bafana and Africa all the way!!!....Well my family are originally from France, but hey South Africa is awesome!!!

I live in NZ but lived most of my life in amsterdam .Been in NZ the last 3 years. Im new to rugby but love the game.

I know you said no "FIFA but with rugby comments" but when it comes to the manager mode, that is exactly what it needs to be. Gameplay tweaks have been nicely documented on here (at least 10-15 tackle animations, several kicking animations, good looking and not randomly lost rucks, better cut scenes like in madden, better crowd involvement, some sevens action, better and more realistic scrum control, lots of lineout options, lots of designed plays, design your own set piece plays, Total Control Passing, better animations and more individualized and graphically well done players, and other suggestions have all been great) but the big issue is licensing and leagues. No lame world league of clubs. Just take FIFA's manager engine and apply rugby teams. NO ONE is trying to license these teams (Magners, Premiership, French Top 14, Italian Super 10, Air New Zealand, Currie Cup, Australian Club competition, Argentina Club, USA Super League, Canadian Club, Fiji, Tonga and Samoan Club, Japanese Top League, Russia, Georgia, Romania) Some of these leagues would probably do it for FREE just to up exposure. Heck you could probable do like FIFA and get some of these countries Division 2 or even 3 leagues. French Pro D2, Top Welsh, Scottish and Irish Clubs, English Championship and even National 1, Vodacom Cup, etc...Please do this so I can play through a career buying and selling players realistically and bringing players through my academy or poaching top players from lower leagues. PLEASE!

Also there should be a manager mode for international teams that allows you to look over ALL of the available players from your country (include those overseas) and choose a team, watching players develop through time and going through entire international seasons and go through the years as a coach, and having new players come through based on either a simulated club competition or, go through the club competition and as you develop players, you can choose a country to coach at the same time so you can have more involvement throughout the life of the game.

Take away the turbo button like in madden11, implement the hit stick like in madden. It would be mean to see Nonu or SBW doing some stiff arm fends.

Rather then listing everything you guys just said, if you could make it so that we can create our own player and live their life through the season including practices, games, etc. that would be amazing!!
Also to have different types of games one can play with friends, online or locally, would be awesome!! For instance like a place kicking contest, drop goal contest, full field sprints, and any other games you guys could think of.
These are just ideas, if you cant get them in this one the next one would be great with these additions.

So easy

You wanna make a good rugby game???

Just make Jonah Lomu Rugby again in HD with new names/players/and ELVs.

Jesus rage and codemasters made an unbelievably good rugby game that long ago...
...surely it cant be that hard now
