So Eddie does the job in 3 months that Lancaster couldn't manage in 4 years.

Eddie Jones is a rugby coach who's focus is totally on winnning games. Lancaster is a manger who had a vision about what he wanted England to be. In the end its a results business and all the soundbites and catchy slogans SL came up with mean **** all when you cannot win the important games and be overuled on selections by one of the players dads.

In a nutshell, it's true.
Eddie Jones has breathed life into England rugby again and there will be bums on seats everywhere with the relief and joy of winning the 6 Nations, and shortly it will be a grand slam.
England need this badly to help them overcome the worst occasion they have ever suffered.
This is a tonic for the troops and the fans.
Well done Eddie and well done Hartley.
England deserve the win.
If they can lift themselves in Paris they can put the icing on the cake.

Eddie Jones is a World Class coach. There is no denying it. His CV which has been mentioned here has been proof of that.

But let's not get carried away. He's gotten off to a good start, but the question is if he can keep it up. He has moments of brilliance, but from what I've seen in the past is those moments don't last long, and other teams quickly figure him out and then causes a big loss for his team. Also it has been smooth sailing until now, but my question is how long will he keep his composure, especially around the Media.

I'm glad he has been doing well with England, but that's only because I'm happy he's no longer at the Stormers.

I don't think anyones getting carried away Heineken.
Eddie Jones has inherited a strong squad of mentally damaged players and he has set about putting things to rights and nothing does that like winning silverware.
His man management is still world class.
His tactics are sometimes seen through because the teams he works with have shortcomings that will be exposed by teams who have the weapons to expose them.
Arguably, England could remain undefeated by northern european teams for a long old time under Jones.
Against the big three it may well be different.
But at this juncture it's only right to congratulate Jones, Hartley, the back room staff and the players in particular for lifting themselves out of the mire from the RWC fall out and putting themselves firmly back in the frame as an international contender.
It's wonderful for the fans and the ERU.

I think the main thing this has done is show how badly everything went wrong about the RWC. We beat Wales last year pretty convincingly at Cardiff and did again at home this year. What has been asked and rightly answered is how we lost to a depleted version of that team during the RWC. Jones may have made changes to the team but it still plays similar rugby and arguably we were playing last 6 nations. But there is a belief about this squad but I think it's more instilling what was there before the world cup not about finding something that didn't exist.

Plus as noted Lancaster lost just about every pivotal match his squad played in. That was never good and the RWC was just that on overdrive.

Good post Jones Boy, especially on the man management aspect.

Very much still a work in progress, but Jones seems to be providing a clear vision and has his players firmly onside. In a few months that's a good achievement.

And if you think about it, before the tournament most people would have picked Brookes over Cole, George over Hartley, Farrell over Ford, anyone over Farrell and May over Nowell - injuries and other factors conspired against these. Many wouldn't have chosen either Robshaw or Haskell and Youngs hasn't cemented 9 either. This has just been a start, it will probably be a year before we start to see the team that Jones really wants take shape.

Throw in to the mix that England were in the group of death, and IF Robshaw had taken the kick instead of driving for the line England still would have gone through.
Its definitely the mental set in the England camp that has lifted.
No question.
Jones is responsible for that, and his backroom staff.
Hartley adds steel as Captain.
His decision making has been on point.
Take your minds 4 months back to that fateful moment when Ford was telling his captain, Robshaw, who was sitting on his haunches, slack jawed staring up at Ford, nodding his head like an imbecile, that it was the way forward to go for the lineout drive...
Hartley is never going to listen to some green round the gills glory boy school kid about any important decisions.
They would have been worked out pre-match with the management and Hartley knows how to choke out an opponent and squeeze the win from a squeaky bum (sorry for that image) he's the perfect captain for the English recovery and Jones' faith in him has been paid back in spades.
