[Six Nations 2018] Round 2: England vs Wales (10/02/2018)

At least when we were hosts we got knocked out in the group stages we lost to tier 1 sides.

When you were co-hosts can you remind me who kicked you out at the group stages? I mean how does feel to be kicked out by a tier 2 team?

Co-hosts... doesn't matter, final wasn't in Cardiff.

It must be horrible for Wales, losing all the world class Lions to be replaced by the world class rookies. I mean the Kiwis are desperately rummaging through the family histories to see if any of them have watched Lord of the Rings or something

Mrs Quinn, I don't believe anyone is questioning the class of Sergio Parisse and neither is anyone suggesting that only one player per position be descibed as world class.

The All Blacks are currently considered as the best team in the world and set the benchmark for aspiring world class players from other international sides, and comparisons between players will always be made. I mentioned Read and Vunipola, two different players with different qualities who can both be rightly described as world class, and I would suggest those of Vunipola would not necessarily be conducive to what the All Blacks are currently looking for in a no.8.
I don't care about Parisse, he's just an example. It's perfectly fair to draw comparisons to the all blacks, but ridiculous to think that if you couldn't get into the all blacks you're not world class. New Zealand themselves have a ton of world class players not currently able to get into the first xv.

You seem to have forgotten that just a few pages back you implied that until you win the world cup you're not world class. Hence my example of a player who is never going to win the cup. He's joined in that by the majority of international rugby players.

Do you not agree that New Zealand are the team that set the benchmark for excellence ? Yes, I'm sure you do, and for a player to break into the All Blacks means that he must be special, but wouldn't be world class until he has performed consistently at the highest level. With regard to your statement that there are "tons of world class players not currently able to get in to the first XV", that may be a slight exaggeration.

My memory's fine, thanks. I mentioned "England will never be considered world class unless they win the World Cup". That means England as a team, and if they do win in Japan, the team can rightly be considered "world class" at that moment, as has every other team who has won it in the past. Of course, that doesn't mean to say that each player in the team/squad can be considered world class.

Finally, it's a shame you don't care about Parisse as he's one of the players in the 6N who really stand out.

lets hope for englands sake sir tom jones doesnt turn up tomorrow, everytime he has done the welsh have muched the saesneg....clearly tom has mystical powers like any decent boy from the valleys

well sir tom gave out the shirts in the 2015 classic

and he joined forces with max boyce when we stuffed them at wembley lol

Cause truthteller said Wales have won half their games at Twickenham in recent years...if you exclude two games they lost.
you really are slow, we didnt include friendlies, just the important tests , 6 nations and world cups and yes won 3 lost 3, deal with it and stop spitting your dummy

I just can't decide between the 30-3 demolishing or knocking England out their own World Cup at the group stage with a make shift team

My 5 of the best against england would include the dejection and the shell shocked faces of the england players and the coaches when Wales denied them the grand slam that time. Priceless! Details escape me i'm on a train but you'll all know which one I'm talking about.
