Well, I hate this selection.

Scott Robertson won 1 NPC with Canterbury. He won 1 U20 World Championship - however was just in charge of their worst defeat in the tournament.

I actually like Scott Roberton, he could be a really good coach eventually. By why has he been rushed into the job? The Crusaders are one of the most prestigious teams in rugby - why not try for Schmidt, Cotter, Wayne Smith, get Deans back, Rob Penney who won more with Canterbury than any coach and was wrongly overlooked for the job back in 2009? Why put Robertson in now? I'm sick of this old boys club attitude the NZRU franchises constantly employ.

Name one coach who has won a Super Rugby ***le within a decade of their playing retirement? There is no one. So why do people keep appointing them?!

No offense to Scott, but he also seems like a bit of a hippy surfer-away-with-the-fairies type. He reminds John Kirwan in terms of that spirituality and mana ethos. But fortunately for the Crusaders he probably has a little more vision than Kirwan ever had or will have.

His appointment seems to highlight a bit of a lack of depth in the coaching department, a lot of our guys are overseas currently. I thought the Crusaders and Highlanders jobs would have been able to lure a few back.

Internet rumour has it at 99pc likely that Crusaders receive Joe Schmidt's CV for this. Its not like they couldn't have got him.

I get that NZ want to keep pushing talented young coaches through - but surely having him play assistant first to one of the big beasts of NZ coaching would work better than thrusting him in before he's ready - and the gripes I've heard around him about the net suggests he's not?
