What poor strategy from Scotland. I know it was cold but really Parks needed to put the ball in the corners. Lavea had a shocker at flyhalf. His kicking was really bad yet his team were in it until the end! Samoa were alwsys going to do well up front, everyone knows this. So, why not use Parks to play to his own strengths - 10 man rugby? Do set moves when in or near Samoa´s 22. Pretty simple really yet Scotland forgot this. They were so compacent expecting a win. Lucky for them their opponent was not Ireland or Italy or Argentina or Fiji - they would have lost.

As you said, the SRU has large debts, and crowd pullers such as the ABs and Boks are too vital to move to other venues

That said, Glasgow is only 30 miled or so away from Murrayfield, whilst I highly doubt the football authorities
Would allow 'egg-chasers' to use their pitches

You are my last hope

There are two reasons why I say Scotland needs to give Glasgow and the country in general international games.

1. Scotland has invested a lot in the Glasgow Warriors and needs top rugby in the city at least once a year. Teams cannot merely use one venue. Games need to be shared.

2. There is going to arrive a time for Scotland to be asked by Ireland to co-host a Rugby World Cup. The two together without Wales. Ireland will look for 6 venues and Scotland maybe 4 or 5. It may be 2023 or 2027 but it will happen. Should Scotland have already been using Hampton park, for instance, it will strengthen their bid.

I get what your saying, but once again the problem is that there is no stadium in Glasgow
Financially viable to host a 'Tier 1' test match. If it were not for the financial shamble that is
Aberdeen Football Club, the odd match would never be hosted in Aberdeen

Don't think Scotland/ Ireland (even jointly) would ever be able to host a WC, I mean isn't there a 100 million dollar
Deposit or something that needs to be paid for hosting rights?

Really Guys, You Gonna accept this win with your head up?? The Ref Threw the game in The Scots Favor. Tekori was shocked @ the call of the ref...really guys, Stripping the ball while laying on your back...the ref stuttered giving the call. Great Job Manu and scotland for your great display of great rugby but the ref threw the game and Scotland had no problem licking their lips on that final kick.

Based on the fact that Samoa will have more time than they've ever had to assemble as a team before the World Cup, and that helps hugely, especially considering Samoa always have to scurry together in one big mess before tests. Scotland barely got past Samoa in cold Scottish conditions that favoured Scotland greatly. Samoa has more upside going towards the World Cup.

Maybe not, but Samoa do look like they are a goal kicker away from being a very decent team. And with a little more time with the new combinations they have, it could turn out really well for them.

South Africa are a different beast with DuPreez at the helm.
