Scotland v England

Ashton really is a ******. Balshaw for fooks sake! Again!!!!!!!!!!!!! I despair :toss:

Mark my words this is all part of Ashton's cunning plan!!! [/b]

What cunning plan? Are you suggesting that Iain Balshaw will pull off a mask to reveal Cipriani and then shout "AH HAAAH! IT WAS REALLY ME ALL ALONG!"

I was gonna go with full body suit but a mask will get the job done!!!

This news is disappointing, but we won the World Cup thanks to the analness of Sir Clive. If Cipriani broke the rules, he broke the rules. Discipline is needed in Rugby, whatever form it takes.

I hate seeing Balshaw at fullback, I hate seeing Cipriani dropped from the squad since Charlie doesn't deal with the pressure of playing for England since his long term layoff.

But no matter who plays fullback we'll have too much for the woeful Scots.

I wonder if this sort of punishment was set out before the incident. If so Danny Boy only has hmiself to blame for breaking the rules, however harsh it may seem.

Ashton's big mistake was leaving Balshaw on the bench as backup fullback, as he couldn't promote another fullback ahead of him easily.

Strangely enough, Sir Clive let players chill out and do what they wanted before the big games rather than confine them to quarters like Ashton is effectively doing.

I would be confident in saying that Sir Clive would probably take longer than a day after the photos had come out to come to his decision and his decision would probably had been a stern word behind the scenes with the team captain in attendance and nothing more.

At the end of the day, while Cipriani has undeniably been photographed leaving a club, its Brian Ashton who has made it the story and if things go ***s up in Murrayfield and if Balshaw blows up (again), it will be his head on the block and not Cipriani's.

OK lads, enuff of this one now, bit boring going on n on. More important issues now are such as 20mph winds and rain forecast for today and tomorrow in the Murrayfield area. Anyone living up there confirm such? Could be a real slog and messy game, 10 man rugby looks order of the day, Englands mobile back row could be negatted by conditions and a low scoring affair looks banker material.
Comments and views appreciated

I live over on the East, but its been pretty wind & wet here today (and forcast to continue tonight). Id say it will probably be similar in Edinburgh. (just like 2000 - the pieces are beginning to fall into place! :D)

In honesty though, I actually think the best result for Scotland is to be beaten. If we win, the 6 Nations will be 'acceptable' and the cracks papered over once more. We need to loose, so that Hadden is given an Ultimatum, or even better, the sack, and Scotland can repair the rot.

A victory would spark the "its not that bad afterall" from the SRU.

That said, I still want to win! :D

Will you get Andy Nicol to come out of retirement and do a rain dance??? Anything to get him off the BBC!

SCW implemented a regime where the players set their own standards of behaviour, and appropriate punishments. I think the fact that they set it, and they would be judged by their teammates if breaking rules meant that players stuck to the rules well.

no need - its absolutly ******* it down in the west coast now! :D

EDIT: just had a closer look - its full-on Hail now: the english better be prepared for the elements! :D

Imagine if Wilkinson goes off and we could have Hodgeson at 10 and Balshaw at 15. Has there ever been two more mentally weak players in key positions for their country before. Please god keep Wilko safe from those nasty Scots.

It's been raining quite a bit here today, it's stopped just now but it's meant to start again tomorrow....

Good, although like most fans i would like to see tries if we win i couldnt give a flying fu*k. Its been raining up near Perth as well..

I find the treatment of Cipriani utterly bizzare and borderline ridiculous myself.

But he had a real "oh ****!" look on his face when he was snapped coming out of the niteclub. Rumbled.

He's just a kid. If some gobshite was taking a photo of me I would look pretty agog myself.

This does have the signs of a classic power struggle going on in the background, obviously Ashton wants his lovechild in the side but someone has been championing change, be that Cipriani or whoever but I certainly think that this has hastened Ashton into making the change, had it been anyone else I wonder would he have been so eager?

In fairness the photos taken of him in training don't look much better than those taken coming out of the night club
