RWC Semi Final: New Zealand - Australia (16-10-2011, 21:00)

Here are two very interesting facts:

RWC Fact 1: Every World Cup champion that has been beaten in their defence of the ***le has been beaten by the ultimate winner

RWC Fact 2: No team has ever lost a pool game and then gone on to win the World Cup.

One of these will not be a fact after the Final.

really? come back for treatment? i would have thought he could hang with mils and DC to watch the games

I have been meaning to ask, why do these team go home as soon as they are knocked out? I would have thought they would stay ad watch the games etc, rugby players = rugby fans?

NH clubs are playing atm though - as soon as they're knocked out of the RWC the NH based players get right back into club rugby

When will the vBookie get put up for this match? I want to blow all my vCash again by betting on the All Blacks!

Anyways.. Just heard on the radio that Beale is a 50/50 chance of being fit for the match. The good news for Australia is that both Kepu and McCabe look like they will be fit to play.

not sure how the rules work but when a player is cut due to injury they have to be distanced from the squad because of IRB rules. The official cut over for Donald & Gear to come into the mix was this morning to allow the squad to fairwell Mills and Slade last night. Bit horid, you would think that injured players could stick around and help out but rules prevent that.

IRB rules state that the team has to be out of the country within 48 hours or something

It isn't rules. It's that it'd be expensive for the IRB to keep paying for hotels so they pay for their flights home as soon as possible. The players can stay if they want, it's just at their own cost to stay and they'd have to pay their own way home if they forfeit their free IRB flight. Most have club duties to attend to anyway.

Do players who were in the squad but got injured, or players who have been included in the squad but not played, get medals?

yeah, you would have thought it wouldn't hurt for them to be the water carrier or something

Don't the non-playing 8 already do that?

and? too many and they might spill it? i just mean it couldn't hurt but might help build that team thing

i dnt now if people have seen this but it made me smile :)

If Beale is out which is 50-50 what do you think the Aus 22 will be? All other players should be fit and ready for the match on Sunday I have heard.

AAC at 15 with Fianga at 13?
Lachie Turner at wing with James O'Connor at 15?
Barnes at 10 and Cooper at 15? (I do not see this coming true)
McCabe on bench with Barnes 12, Fianga 13, AAC 15?

I am hopefull Beale will be fit and play but just wanted to know what people think?

lets hope kurtley can play, but probably AAC to full back with fainga'a to 13 would be the most likely

i just want the wallabies to win like i never have before, i think i will literally cry if they lose but not because the ref cheated :)

I love the passion that's going down already.
2 big games this weekend and i literally can't make a call on either.

I feel the same way, except wanting the AB's to win. I'm not sure I can actually bear watching it live, it'll take years off my life.

It seems like Beale will be ok, minor hamstring strain doesn't sound too bad.
