RWC Semi Final: France - Wales (15-08-2011, 21:00)

Red card any day of the week. Shame for Wales, was really hoping they would get up

Sad for Wales, sad for the spectacle. Even if we win now it won't mean much.

But god how retarded is Warburton...

Cmon guys. There was no point in tackling like that. Little winger agains very good flanker. Fair call. He deserved that.

Wow.....just...wow.

If he was given a yellow you'd think "Bit harsh, but I guess so" but a red?
Absolutely ridiculous.

People are going to have opposing views, thats just life. The lawbook says a red card can be given, but i'm sure some people think a yellow would have sufficed.

If the ref got it wrong, Sam wont miss the final anyway, they can overturn it I think. If he got it right, his WC is over unfortunately.

it has to be red. otherwise it sets a precedent for every other level of rugby.

the captain of a top team and one of the best opensides in the world should know better.

(although it wasn't as dangerous as Umaga and Mealamu's job on Driscoll or Thorn's spear on Smit!)

Warburton's tackle was extremely dangerous and the red is totally justified

Agreed, at the start of the year the IRB also made a lot of noises of how there would be zero tolerance for these kind of tackles.

Accidental or not, it was a very dangerous tackle and every action must be taken to eradicate these things.

Yachvili took to long on the ball that's when they lost the opportunity.

Damn right, this is one ref who's just Bryce Lawrenced his way out of the final. The only way that looked red card bad was in a ridiculous amount of slow motion.

As the commentators said in one of our local broadcasts, worse than those have happened right throughout the tourney and have only received citings.

Anyone remember Lote Tuiqiri dropping McCaw on his head in a bledisloe? Way worse any way you look at it and he stayed on the field. When you lower your body to tackle and then stand up to keep your feet a small amount of lifting often happens, Warburton was guilty of no more than that!

do you think that this call will eradicate spear tackles???

Great another game where people will blame the ref, shall we ban him, write articles on match fixing oh what to do,
