RWC 2011: Custom Jersey Designs

I actually already created an alternate like that, but I went with the first save for the template.

LOVE IT. Would def buy that one as well as the Tongan one. I must admit I have been mostly disappointing with the current RWC kits as most of the teams designs seem rather boring apart from Romania and Samoa. These jerseys are def much better and I for one would definitely go out and buy a lot of these. Great work!

I've been thinking about designing my own rugby kits for some time, but I never found the time to do so. Recently, I opened Photoshop for the first time in months and decided to give it a go. I decided to make a logo for my own work (temporary design for now at least) and have dubbed the brand "Ridge Sports" - don't ask.

The shirt can be modified several ways including different collar styles.

Some brief details about the shirt: I wanted to use clean simple collars since those are the most comfortable to play in. This is something I wanted to concentrate on for the design, comfort for play.

I also added my own idea for a scrum. There is specific padding on both shoulders to reduce stress on the player's upper body, thus allowing him/her to push harder. Taking some inspiration from Canterbury, this padding would also be sticky. There is another spot for the padding, but it is located on the back covering the ribs and kidneys.

There are more additions that you can read about in the images. I'll probably end up creating a few more of these in the coming days/weeks if there is enough interest to continue.

Looks nice, with the Wales kit mabey have it like the reverse of the england kit with the sides area white or black, black imo is better as then the shirt has the two original Wales shirt colours, red- home. black away

That Japanese jersey is money too. Maybe if on one of the sleeves on the shoulder if you put the three Cherry blossom flowers much like the current Romanian RWC kit with the Eagle I think would go perfectly. Again another great job though.

I decided to just go ahead and finish the rest of these since I was able to find the South Africa Rugby badge and alter it accordingly. Thank you drag and drop Google Image search function. I had to make the Australian shirt badge from scratch and it didn't turn out perfectly, but it'll do until someone can post it up. I also made alterations to the template for Australia and South Africa. I like the way most of these final jerseys turned out.

Now, back to my book.

Well, this originally started with trying to create something new for Biarritz, but I doubt I'll get into clubs right now since it will take so much time. Perhaps down the road.

Loving the Samoa one, would buy 2.

For the sake of differentiation would there be any possibility of having a single arm full taulima (tribal) covering the whole left arm and into the left chest area (maybe even incorporating manu samoa logo into it?)

I know it's asking for so much - but it would be sooo good...



I would give up one of my pool seats (A Class ) for it.

Those kind of designs are difficult to find as clip art and I wouldn't take the time to create it from scratch as it would take hours. If someone can provide excellent quality clip art of Samoan, Tongan and Fijian tats, that'd be great.

Just thought I'd say these are probably the nicest rugby kits I've seen so far, would love for them to be picked up by someone looking for a new design.

If any of them do get made I'd know a whole lot of people would love to get one for themselves.
