JLR is a rom that i ripped from the game which i own. You can buy ps1 games for it, but atm there is only some 7/8 games available for purchase. Its still early days with it tho, dont think its been released in the US yet, so once that happens i'm sure there will be more games appearing.
Will be interesting to see if there will be any world cup related rugby games coming for Android and Iphone as well, surely some developer would try and capitalise on the opportunity?

Can't wait for Aug. and this game to come out, haven't been able to buy a rugby union game in 4 years too long. Looking forward to the real RWC as much as the game but the latter will last much longer. I pre ordered it from Gamestation, glad that they ship overseas since I live in the US, and it was still only £44.94.

Soo disappointed if it is just world cup teams I'm not sure I'll even bother buying it, it would be such a missed opportunity, maybe one day soon EA will realise there is a market for a rugby game and we can have a properly funded game with the ability to play as the teams we follow week in week out!

*Bangs head on desk.

I'm sorry but whats the point in a rugby game that at best is going to last a month not sell particularly well and leave no encouragement to create a follow up. People want to play club level rugby, compete as their favorite plays in the aviva, magners, Heineken, the curry cup, super 15 not as their country in one tournament!

Thats definitely not true. You could at least bother to read the last 5 pages of posts before you post to see this point has been made at least 10 times and shot down every single time.

Tell that to the Football World Cup game in 2010. I think you'll find that that has lasted a lot longer than a month, has sold well, and in my opinion is just as good if not better than Fifa 11. If the multi player is great then the game can last for years. The game may end up being more of a success than a Rugby 2012 would have been because people are watching the world cup, wonder if there is a rugby game, and see the rugby world cup game and buy it. If the game play is good and there is a multi player option then I will love it! (Although it would be lush if there was a be a pro, but thats not too likely ;) )

The game needs more than just international teams!

I hope this is not the case as it would be a massive cop out. Going from over 70 teams in 08 to 20 is not really representative of the advances in games consoles. The gameplay would need to be out of this world and even if it was that would only bring it up to the standard of Jonah Lomu rugby which at least had 28 teams. The games need to develop over the years not deteriorate. Rugby fans have waited a long time for a next gen game to play and if this lack of teams is true it's going to be a massive disappointment. All the forums have asked for more advanced manager options, Seven's tournaments and more licenced teams. Has all this simply been ignored in the interest of making a fast buck out of the 6 week rugby fans who only watch the World Cups and at the expense of real rugby fans.

Read through pages in this thread and the answers are explained well by members.

This game is not a kop out. This game does not have the money production that EA would have given to HB. This is the first Rugby Union game to be on a next gen console. You might find 'real rugby fans' will appreciate that a game is coming out.

I wish people would stop comparing it to 08 and just think of it as a new start to the "Rugby" franchise - Rugby 08 came out 4 years ago, and was on none of the platforms that RWC2011 is being released on - why should they be similar?
I know that HB has made both, but there's been such a large gap in between the two that technology and software will have changed so much it's pretty much starting from scratch

It's not a "step down" - it's a new start.
