Rugby World Cup 2011 Official Game

i wondered this as well. Its showing up on gamestation online, so i presume atm theres no exclusivity. Previous 505 games have been exclusive Game only ***les (Backbreaker and Naughty Bear) at least to my knowledge so it shall be interesting to see how things pan out. Will definitely be interesting to see whats in store for us :D

Needs verifying but i think GAME and Gamestation belong to the same group....
okay:

Gamestation is a chain of UK retail shops selling used and new video games, and was the second-largest specialist video game retailer in the UK until it was bought out by Game, a group which owns many different gaming stores throughout the UK and Europe. It is fully owned and operated by Game, which bought the chain in 2007.[1]

Like I've noticed above and checked out GAME's site, you can pre-order the game now, but I wasn't able to find the game on any Canadian/North American retailer's online list yet. Has anyone been able to find it on any non-UK site yet?

I got my credit card out and ready haha!

Correct.

Game UK used to own the Electronics Boutique franchise in the UK so had their "cool kids" brand with Game and the "adults" brand with EB (staff wear a tie etc). Around 10 years ago they opted to not renew the franchise and instead bought out Gamestation (for reportedly a lot of money), transfering the "cook kids" brand onto Gamestation and making Game their "prestigious" marque.

yer i remember them, they were a good shop, then they all transformed to Game. I remember seeing EB over in canada and stuff, so i presume the "change over" hasn't happened. ah those were the days...

Any ideas whos on the front cover? i suggest Chris Ashton, Joe Rokocoko and Bryan Habana... just putting them out there

Got a sneak peak at one of the special edition covers at a press conference the other week:

Guaranteed when the game comes out you will definitely purchase it no matter what you say, that game will be with you.

The playing field is still wide open both parties have cards close to their chest still.

If its got clubs then yeah I'll get it. £40 is a lot of money to me, I'd happily sacrifice some gameplay for longevity. If and only if (as all info has not been released) this is just a world cup game I think I can hang on one more week till there's hundreds of copies on amazon or ebay.

Fingers crossed!

I thought Gamestation was owned by Blockbuster?

Anyways Back on topic now

Gameplay or Licencing...

I know what I would prefer, I think that gameplay is key for the game, if the gameplay is right, which I am sure its going to be, then the franchise can be built on, the key thing to remember this is the first Rugby Game for the Next Gen Consoles, its the Official Rugby World Cup Game (the 1st of its type) what does it mean for Rugby Gaming, it means we could be into a bright future people are getting fed up with Fifa, this is Rugby's time to take the spotlight.

I for one can't wait to hear more from HB Studios and 505 Games.

A valid point but for me it's 60/40. Gameplay is important (60%) but for me the licensing is also very important (40%). It's not fun to play in the World Cup with the Flingboks against the Wobbolies and score a try with Luasi Mvolvo
