This concerns me! Not the state of this game on release (I don't have it but going by forum posts and watching Yewtoob videos) but the fact that I didn't even know that it was in development yet alone released. I used to make it my business to keep updated on all things rugby video gaming. Union or League. Eagerly await news of development and release dates. Maybe due to nearly all rugby games released after EA Sports Rugby 05 and 08 (both good games) being meh.... I've subconsciously given up on the notion that a decent rugby game will ever be released.

The marketing of the game is below average. On twitter ( X ) they post updates about patches. They had 1 or 2 trailers, but everything else marketing wise is non existent.
This game has more licenses than EA rugby 08, but the game cover is sooo generic, why not have a star player? in the past rugby game covers were specific to each of the major rugby countries. Its small issue in the scheme of many issues with this game.

there releasing 2 patches per week. they are releasing 1 today.

What do you guys think about Rugby 25 and the improvments since the launch?
Do you believe they can turn it into a decent game eventually?
Personally, I gave up and I think until a studio decide to base its gameplay on Rugby 08, rugby video games are doomed.

agree 100%, I honestly think Rwc2011 (ps3/xbox360) was the best play ever made, becaus it maintained the base of rugby08 and fixed some errors. I'm from argentina and I still play the game with my friends.
We should all sumbit a ticket to Big Ant say that they have to modify the game and make it as similar as possible to RWC2011/RUGBY08.

Don't know about anyone else but an "arcade" feel would be a huge turnoff for me when it comes to buying a rugby game or any other sports game for that matter. I want a sports game to be as realistic as possible. While I understand the idea of people picking it up who know nothing about the sport, I think you then run the risk of alienating people who do know the sport and want the game to mimic it as best as possible.

but if you played rwc2011 before you may have noticed that the game is 100 times more realistic than any other launched before (RChallenge, R15,18,22,25)

On the other hand, who cares if Dupont's face is identical if you can't pass the ball even once?
