Rugby 08 Roster update

I also used that editor with the ten boots and no face preview (thinks its 500 and something kb in size) but I hex edited my roster into ozzy's roster (I used his roster cause he only used the editor with the ten boots and no face preview and not the new editor with the "bug")

After you hex-edited the roster all the new players will appear in the "modified" ozzy roster but also in the same way in the team lists, so say now in ozzy's original roster Bob Skinstad is in SA's team and you have replaced him in your roster with Jean Deyzel, Jean Deyzel will now appear in the SA team instead of Bob Skinstad in the new hex-edited roster, all you have to do then is to place all the players in their correct teams and click on the set as default button (in the old editor ofcourse) and it should work 100% in the WL and Challange Mode.

Ok, i think i know how. I opened both rosters (MUP 09 and OzRos) and copy and pasted the entire contents from MUP09.ros to OzRos.ros and saved. So far, so good. Then i tried to set as default with woosaah editor (no face preview and 10 boots) and copied the new .rdf from woosaah editor folder to main directory. The game still crashes, so i must have the bugged editor.

So, i have two options and they both involve the 'old' working .rdf editor. I either send my roster file to you, and you 'authenticate' my roster (make an .rdf) with the editor version you have and email it back to me.. or you email me the editor you have and i try and get it to work.

What do you suggest Ross?

Roster works brilliantly thanks, strating to get into the modding scene myself, will post anything I manage to do on the forum

UPDATE:

While I'm waiting for the 6 Nations and SA's Super14 squads to be announced am I busy updating all the players weight and height and trying to give all of them a suitable face,correct skin colour and nationality.

In some cases I only get their weight and height so then I'm not able to update their faces and so on...but hopefully most players will have the correct stats and so on, also busy giving the players that I can full names.

Next release should be around the middle of next month

yes it will but only if you click on the "set as default" tab which creates a rdf file for the world league

Try v1.5, it comes with a rdf file, also you will need to use a old version of the editor to save the rdf file

The game crashes it appears because the stadiums are assigned wrong in the xml, or in the roster data. This is caused by a bug in woosaah's last editor, which messes up the stadium assignment if you use his editor to do it. That's what causes it i'm 100% sure.

I found i had some crashes in other competitions, and this was an xml problem that Fran had made when he made copies of stadiums, which i then deleted. They cannot load so it crashes. But is all fixed now. If you wanna fix an .rdf, use the 'teamfixer' editor by kingwilko to assign stadiums.. it should fix your .rdf.

So should you just make sure that each stadium is assigned to the correct team like Stormers->Newlands, Sharks->Durban ect...?

Any stadium that is assigned yes in the xml. If not, it will crash. For some reason, the bug in the stadium select of the last woosaah editor doesnt just reset it to stadium australia, it must do other stuff as well. I'm not sure how it works with that bug, but just make sure the teams have a workin stadium assigned. Of course, it'd make sense to use the correct ones!

Oh okay cool, so by some how hex editing my roster with ozzy's fix that problem for me automaticly. .

Have been making slow progress with my roster as work started again but the new update should be ready end of this month

Sorry woohoo but I will only be able to release the update after the start of the Super14, still have lots of updating and creating of new players to do which takes abit of time so it should only be ready at the end of this month.

Well is there a way to unlock those hidden teams. How far are you with your roster ross?
