RBS 6 Nations - England vs Wales - 25/02/2012, 16:00

I honestly couldn't tell if it was a try , if walsh said any reason not to award it england would have it , but he said try yes or no :/ and the TMO said no. just bad luck , One hell of a game ! england and wales were both amazing , England rather surprisingly , but I'm just glad luck fell our way :D

It was a borderline try a lot like the try scotland scored against England this time we werent so lucky

Try definitely should be awarded, should've been a card for North earlier as well. Youngs and Lawes were both **** when they came on, as was Stevens (don't see why he is even in the England set up). Our first 15 was very good though. Think Ashton should be dropped, can't see him doing much at all.

Roll on the game with France!

Urgh.

Well done to Wales.
Farrell and Dickson going off lost us that game.

Hopefully Cuthbert gets cited for his cheapshot on Parling.

Matt Stevens was crap too. Gave away an absolutely idiotic penalty.

Farrell will have gone some way toward silencing his doubters I'd imagine.

"Iain Ramage of Scotland" decides against awarding a fairly obvious try to England...one cannot think why. It would only have papered over the cracks of Lancaster's appalling substitutions which lost us the game anyway. Matt Stevens has long been a liability with regard to soft penalties, and Youngs in this form is embarrassing. Good show over the first hour but ultimately no cutting edge. Manu back a plus. Disappointed in England's scrum after decent enough showings against Italy and Scotland.

thats a little biased towards England. Both sides play well England really stepped it up. If either side won it would have been well deserved. This you cannot deny. also i agree they starting 15 were class , minus ashton on the day.

Lets be honest, Wales are nothing compared to what they were being dubbed this week. Nothing special

I think and i speak for the whole of England that we move youngs out of the country

With the question asked, there was no evidence of a try being scored. Correct call.
That being said, wasn't Walsh playing advantage, or did the TMO count as no advantage?

Didn't see Cuthbert on Parling but should have been a card for the lineout pull down on Warburton.

Priestland looked awful, simply terrible. Nice try from Williams, but he blew one earlier.

I thought Lawes played well when he came on: Yes he got ripped, but he made tackle and hit rucks hard.

Next match we should:
Start Lawes for Botha, bring Sharples in for Ashton, put Hodgson and Simpson(?) on the bench for Flood and Youngs.

Should have been a yellow for Robshaw for taking Warburton out in the lineout aswell. Should he get cited, it's bloody dangerous, more so than a spear because the player's coming down from much greater height. It might not have been fully intentional from Robshaw, but if you come across the line you take that chance of taking out the supporting players.

England matched wales all around the park , so so pleased with the performance ! go England !

Will only get better. And don't people harp on about good teams being able to win when they're up against it. To win, whilst playing poorly, against an England team playing very well away from home, losing one of your main players in Jamie Roberts, and being a man down for 10mins, is surely a good result, even if the performance was nowhere neer what was expected.

Youngs was poor again. Foden failed to find touch on several crucial occasions. Crashton didn't look like he knew what he was doing half the time.

Agreed, while it wasn't as blatant as one in a previous match (was it a Scottish player doing it? Can't remember), it was more Robshaw colliding and then grabbing hold than throwing him down - still a yellow.
If players can get carded for accidently running in to a player jumping for the ball, then that was.

On the same hand, though, North threw the ball in to touch in a clear try scoring opportunity, which itself is a yellow.

Swings and roundabouts though, ref missed some both ways and Wales came away with the win.
Onwards and upwards!

It seemed to me that neither of the refs wanted to take responsibility for a decision on that "inconclusive" try in a game littered with refereeing errors. I would speculate that even if this were to be a try, Flood would have probably missed.

Halfpenny MOTM. He was decisive both in defense and offense, +the kicking.

Agree completely. It wasn't obvious at first whether North slapped the ball into touch, but on the replay he did. Will have to see the Cuthbert punch again, but it looked like nothing to me, just Parling not giving the ball over, and Cuthbert giving him a tap, I may be completely wrong though.

Yeh I thought Halfpenny was awesome today. His positioning was spot on all game. His kicking, bar the first miss was good, and he stepped into the 10 position when Priestland was off well. He gave everything aswell, he'll be sore tomorrow, because he was completely battered, yet never stopped running at Tuilagi!

Barritt was good for England. His defense today was phenomenal, planty of contenders for man of the match, but overall Warburton deserved it.

Good opportunistic work from Scott at the end, proper tense finish. 'Twas lucky for us though, I'm convinced it was a try, but I'm not complaining.:D

Could someone tell me what Priestland was sin bined for? It just seemed like a normal tackle for me, was he offside or something? Must of missed (or conviniently ignored:p) it.
