Questions reference Rugby Team Manager 2015

Very pleased to see that your problem was resolved.and that you are enjoying the game. We will take a look at what you are mentioning , in this post

Yes I have dave, it's very enjoyable. I've written a post on PR forums but I'll paste it here for others viewing if they want to decide whether to get it or not.

Yep solid 8/10 game. Far, far better than Pro Rugby Manager.

There are few bugs I've found which I've put forward, but there's alot of interesting stuff.

The leagues are good, the depth is good, it's just the right fun level, it's not THAT difficult to get the best centre of excellence, which means you produce 5 world class players a season. Even better that they are not allowed out of the academy after promoting them from the colts until they achieve their world class calibre status.

The calibre system on the game I love personally. There are standards of players based on calibre, World Class, International, National, Professional, Semi Pro and Amateur. All world class players should have stars next to them and the star system included with the calibre system means players can have more effect on the game engine, cost more on salary etc etc. Salary Caps are correctly added into the game as well, at least for Aviva it's set at 5.5 mil.

When kids pull, they will always even if World Class, go into your academy as a National to start with and need to play 20 academy games to upgrade to international standard and then another 20 or so to upgrade to World Class. So they need 40 games before you are allowed to register them into the main squad which is annoying, but a nice touch. Any player who pulls through at National level and has reached potential straight away can be pulled through from the start.

English Leagues go as deep as Division 3 North and South which is excellent and for the Irish, it's Pro 12, Irish Provincial League and it's second division. Lots of depth.

There's an editor to change the names of players who aren't officially licensed.

There are All star games, so Super 15 team, Aviva Prem team and a Pro 12 outfit as well as Top 14 I believe. Barbarians, British Army and British Lions are also in the game, albeit slightly different structure. You are not contracted to a national team but you will receive an offer on certain dates for these teams to opt in to be their manager, as well as the national sides.

World Cups are every 2 years, Lions imbetween alternate them. NZ are miles better than anyone else at the start. Ireland, England, Wales, Australia and SA fairly even although England slightly stronger than that group in particular, Ireland and SA just behind.

Only down side is you are limited to 15 years. Seems alot of years but if your a chairman manager like me who likes to upgrade things, keep the squad good and watch the kids come through, 15 years is nothing and 1 season the way I play is an hours worth of work, tops, which sucks. Having an end point is rubbish because for example if I want to play as Wasps, develop their facilities and bring through players and then think I want to take a project and develop an Irish side, connacht for example, there isn't enough years in the game to allow me to do this. Real, real shame.

There a few bugs and I haven't got a head around the match engine at all, it's very difficult to understand what your opponent is doing and what's the right counter even in Easy mode.

Top game

Worth a purchase personally.

Nice review!

I am surprised you can get 5 World Class players a season. I would have thought the Centre of Excellence (which I don't have yet), would only marginally increase ones change of getting a World Class player. Otherwise within 5-6 seasons you could have an entire squad (30 or so) composed only of World Class players. How many World Class players are there in the game do you guys reckon. 30-40?

On another note, Dave - I don't suppose you have an answer to the queries about the editor? Will there be any updates to what the editor can edit? I love the game from the NH point of view, but it would be nice to make big changes to SH comps.

Salary Cap bakkies, I can barely afford to keep them all now and there are 7 of them.

Fair enough Wendigo. That's a lot of World Class players from one club - are they all the same nationality? I think World Class calibre should be a relatively rare thing to find amongst current and regen players although perhaps it would be fun 12 seasons in if there are loads of World Class players as several clubs by then have upgraded facilities. Who are you managing out of interest?

I actually quite like the graphics in the game. Simplicity can be nice!!

By the way is this definitely the official game forum?

I won't post a full review yet here or in other places on the internet as I want to play more first?

I like a lot about this game. The tactics etc especially. It might be nice though if you could determine level of risk to take whilst trying to steal. Could be fun from a potential penalty risk point of view maybe.

The game does seem to have depth but as I said in the other thread I reckon they rushed bits like the editor which is why all you can do is rename players and change values.

**

Fully customised editor

Utilise the game editor to create your own teams, players, leagues and competitions for a fully customised experience. **

I would love there to be a fully customised experience. Maybe this will be coming soon.*

In the meantime I am going to try and get promotion to the Aviva premier league as I like all the ingame bits!!!

I have a question, maybe 5!!! LOL. Sorry if already answered.

Is calibre something that determines salary demands, fame and all of that or is it related to ability? Like another level as well as the attributes?

As I have just written in the other thread and see others have as well, is that it in terms of editor or are there plans for any patches etc.

Is it possible to add your own player pictures to profiles?

Sounds a bit obvious but how and where do you sort out stuff like doctors and physios?

Does the AI use the same sort of tactics in reverse, or is the game engine built in a different way?*

I am liking this a lot apart from the lack of editor thing. It would be fun to have a 2 player mode where you could play a mate on the same computer. Could become a classic student game!!!

ps This forum is dead quiet given that the world now has a rugby sim!?

First of all, I really like this game and am slowly finding fixes for some of the problems I have had. On that point, got a question on training:

I have assigned coaches to the right people (backs coach to backs, set piece to forwards etc) but have found that whenever a player comes back from injury you need to assign coaches to them all over again. This is a bit of a pain! Alternatively you put auto-assign on, but that just assigns every coach to every single player so you get backs learning lineouts etc.

Is there a way to keep the coaches assigned to players even if they get injured?

Hi Rugby Union
You can create your own players, competitions and clubs by editing the details of the existing data.
Although you are not able to add or remove data, as the game has been balanced with the existing data.

Hi Rugby Union,

You can create your own players, your own competitions and your own clubs by just editing the details of the existing data.
Although you cannot add or remove data, for competitions, players and clubs, as the game has been balanced with the existing data.

Sounds very time consuming to have to customise competitions that way! If someone were to do the southern teams they would then lose the northern ones by replacing them wouldn't they?

Hi Dave is there any plans to review and change the editor. I know its easy to say but the editor would be better if you could swap players from club to club, add your own competitions, teams and players to run alongside and not edit existing data, also is there plans to stop teams getting relegated from leagues (pro 12 and super 15) that don't have relegation in and the competitions in Europe because the number and teams who enter the competitions is wrong. I don't like being critical of the game because i really like everything about the game but it needs to be realistic regarding leagues and teams and competitions.

I was also wondering about calibre upthread. Is calibre like a multiplier for each attribute e.g. 90 tackling technique is actually better with a World Class player than an International one?

I would also like there to be an updated version of the editor.

Star players have an inherent ability to effect the game more with game breaking situations. Depends on skills and personality I believe.

World Class do it more often, Internationals a fair bit, Star Nationals... occasionally.

Hi Everyone Here are a few answers to some of the questions that have appeared in this thread, I hope this is helpful.
Q:- Is calibre something that determines salary demands, fame and all of that or is it related to ability? Like another level as well as the attributes?

A:- It is related to ability and is a neat way to separate players from different leagues and ability.

Q:- Sounds a bit obvious but how and where do you sort out stuff like doctors and physios?

A:- You can recruit doctors and physios at Recruitment->Staff->Doctors or Physios
You can assign doctors and physios at Injuries->Doctors and Recovery->Physios
You can extend or terminate doctor's and physio's contracts at Contracts->Staff Contracts

Q:- Does the AI use the same sort of tactics in reverse, or is the game engine built in a different way?

A :- The opposition match AI tries to play to its strengths whilst exploiting your weaknesses.

Q;- Is there a way you can swap players to the teams they are at like Brad Thorn to Leicester Tigers ect. And also is there a way you can stop teams being promoted and relegated and releganted from Pro 12 and Super 15?

A:- Players can be swapped by editing the names and attributes of players, they cannot be directly swapped. There is promotion and relegation in the Pro 12 and Super Championship to allow lower league clubs the chance to be promoted to the very top leagues.

Q:- Ref Replacing teams If someone were to do the southern teams they would then lose the northern ones by replacing them wouldn't they?

A :-No, NH competitions and SH competitions can be edited concurrently.

Please try and put all questions in the "Questions reference Rugby Team Manager 2015" thread, otherwise I can easily miss them. Many Thanks Dave

Thanks for the answers Dave. I have only tried the Blues and a couple of English teams only so far.

Out of interest do all the other clubs try and improve their facilities also? Can you improve your own club's facilities at any time in the game? I have forgotten to try this as there are loads of things to do and I was most interested in the matches initially.

Are the best clubs in the game NZ and SA (from a coaching and youth point of view) in order to reflect the better quality players that on the whole have come out of these countries in the last 5-10 years (especially NZ!)?

Just to confirm, if I start a career with Auckland, if I do well I qualify and then play in the super rugby competition, albeit without the Blues players because Auckland and the Blues are not linked in the game.

My question yesterday about replacing southern hemisphere teams with northern hemisphere ones was basically badly worded. I meant that if I wanted NZ, Aus and SA to have the same level of depth as northern hemisphere clubs, with linked franchise and domestic unions, I would need to replace the northern clubs with southern ones including all the players and then replace the southern ones with northern ones including all the names. That is what I meant would be time consuming.

Is it possible you will release patches, make changes to the editor etc?

Thanks for persisting with all the questions! Sorry to have posted some of them all over the forum!!

I have a question about player signings: Do World Class players tend to sign more readily for World Class clubs, or would good money be enough to convince them to sign for a mediocre team? I am playing with Bath who are a decent team, so I don't have a problem signing World Class players in my game; in fact, it is possibly a little too easy to!

Apologies for posting this again Dave, but does anyone have an answer for this?

It's really bugging me having to constantly re-assign coaches!
