Q & A for Rugby 2006

Locks, thank you for the info Sir. Has the field perception changed when going up and down the field? Last year's Rugby 2005 the field felt like it was crucnched in.
It had no feel of depth to it. Has this changed? Does it feel more like a Madden or Fifa game were the field has depth to it?
The depth is exactly the same. No depth to it at all. One minute your on your line then the screen flips around and its like your on their line.

Crap really.

I play side view and did not get that feeling in 2005 but the camera could have zoomed in a fraction when it was in the far corner or other side of the field which would have helped with the eye strain( eye sight getting poorer and poorer with all the video games)

The problem with the camera from behind the players is that the camera seems to be set a long, long way away from the action, and zoomed in very far, which creates a foreshortening effect.

This may be changeable by editing the PC version of the game. I'm going to have a lot of money to fork out this season: PS2 and PC versions of Rugby 2006 and RC2006, though it looks like I might not be getting RC2006 looking at the latest videos and reviews.

Does that mean you will be modifying it and put it on your site for download?

yeah but then that would be five of my favourite things and if we go on like that I might as well start a thread detailing all of my favourite things which will take up time to the detriment of some of my other favourite things and then before you know I'll be a politician.

Off topic. Sorry

ARE THERE BLUE BREASTS IN R2006?

.....and could they be contested from the kick off?

you'll have O'Driscoll coming off his left foot

Locksley, thanks for the review - very detailed.

The question I would like to know is the length of drop-goals, as in 2005, you would need to be at most, just outside the 22. Can you score drop-goals from a bit further back this time?

Cheers.

Hey Lionmaul, I take it you've seen my pisstake on what you'd like to see in a game of Rugby?

All in good fun....

just a few questions. Sorry if theyve been addressed...too lazy to check. but...

1. With the fend and step are the animations the same in that when you do a fend on a player does he slow down or is it a more brush past the defender putting him behind you while still running full tilt ala madden. same as for the step. So frustrating and so unrealistic.
2. Camera angle. How close are the players. is it about the same or a bit closer.
3. Can you easily do a short kick just behind the defense?

Thanks bro if you answer this.

A really important question that hasn't been answered yet is the ability to edit the stats of players in the game...... can you edit players this year Locks??

It would be really annoying if we have any more Luke Mcalister's this year(with shocking stats) and you cant edit them.

are the stadiums the same from R2005...or is there more/less stadiums this time round?

hey locks, just really wanna know if the gap between the centres is still there?? and also do you find yourself just spreading it strait out to your wings or centre and run threw the gap or is there other ways to progress up the field other than wings, and set plays, like any forward play???? or pretty much the same as 05????
Cheers

Its been a while since I traded R05 in Harrison and therefore having played it, but I seem to remem kicking drop-goals from further out then "at most, just outside the 22"...

Then again I didn't have too many issue with the kicking mechanics in the game and kinda got it sussed fairly well... kicking good lengths for field position on side-view even...

I think locks said the kicking was better this time round anyways, so I'm sure the drop-goals have been affected by this
