Q & A for Rugby 2006

legend locks, legend!

how responcive is the kicking? you said there was none of this tackle-just-before-you-kick buisness when it comes to punting, but can you
a) up and under the fullback on a break
or
b)charge down?

and could you fill us in on world league and player editors?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Number 8 pick ups are still pretty slow, and unless you're not marked or you hand off the marker, you don't really get anywhere.[/b]
how often do you get some distance then. in 2005 i got nothing. also, how easy is it to get a pushover try when you have a 5m scrum? and how often do penalty trys happen?

i know you didnt want to answer these questions but there not as blunt as they could be... - how do (super12/14) teams stack up against internationals? imo, a super12 team would keep up with half of the euros at the moment.

Hey locks

What about forward play??? Is there any? or is it like 05 and you have to pass it strait out to the wings, or go threw the huge gap in midfield???? Thinking bout that, is the the "GAP" still there???? Cheers

Can you organise/set defense styles (rush up,drift ect)?

can you move a players position mid game and replace more than one player at one time?

1. Do the flankers jump in the line outs this time around? From memory on Rugby 05 all you could do is throw to the locks or the Number 8 at the back... but I could be wrong.

2. Do you get penalised for late tackles?

3. How do Quick Lineouts work... and are they effective?

4. Same as Kafkta asked, have you tried the World League and has the Create a Player changed (i.e can you create left footed kickers now/edit existing players)?

can you sub more than one person on at the same time? and can you change your players positioning halfway through the game? (ie, move umaga from 12 to 13 when playing?)

or do we have to do it the nazi way again?

Hmmm...what to ask, what to ask........

When you move your player is it a case of instantaneous response?

Is the game played at a higher overall pace than 05? How does that compare with the frenetic pace of a game of Lomu's?

Is there a chance that there are bugs in the game that you haven't played long enough to find?

Have you heard through any of your contacts (that you obviously get these preview copies from) whether or not there are finally some cool unlockables to play for?

Will you submit to a horrendous 6 month unrelenting cruel mocking (with nasty personal jibes thrown in free) from the boy's here on the forum should the game be only half as good as you say?

oo yes how do the quick line outs and taps work?
When the ball goes out into touch, if your player gets it quick enough, you push square and he'll throw a quick line out. Same applies to penalties, you have the option to push square to tap it and go. Works pretty well. Keeps the pace of the game up.

Two biggies for me...........

1. The computer AI..............any good, DO THEY ACTUALLY SCORE ANYTHING aside from drop goals this time around?

2. Penalties. Do you get awarded some penalties for such things as offside by the computer, hands in the ruck etc? (in rugby 2005 it was rare to be awarded a penalty except for the "pulling down the maul" by the computer from a lineout drive).

Without a doubt yes. I got hammered in my first world league match 37-7. They scored loads of great tries, all varied from short barge overs to a quick tap in my half with some slick passing to go in at the corner. They're pretty good at drop goals too.

Not only that, I was winning 29-12 in one match when the momentum seemed to swing the AI's way and they got on a roll to level 29-29. I scored again but missed the kick to make it 34-29 on 79 minutes, only to give a penalty away in my half which the AI made me pay for by scoring in the corner AND booting the goal!

The AI is very good in Rugby 06.

Still rare I'd say. they do get penalised for high tackles, but I've yet to see an offside given against the AI.

Something I noticed only recently is that if you kick a ball into the opposition's 22 and the fullback takes the mark and then takes the punt they hardly make any ground when kicking for touch, therby making it easy to get the trow near their 22. I don't suppose you've noticed if this was the case in the new game Locks?

A better question this time: The camera angles...are they better. As in can you use the classic view to always be behind your team? Does that make sense?

thanks mate - I get the feeling this game is going to be the ********. Roll on February!

Thanx locks, allways one step ahead.....

1) What do you think of the AI defense on each difficulty level you played?

2) Is the spupid gap between the outside center and the winger present or did they fix the damn thing.....??

3) Does the highest level of difficulty still feels like the AI is cheating (especially on rucks situations) ??

4) Does momentum shift and superstar players realy have an impact on the game ??

5) there's no 5.....i'll be happy if you answer the 4 previous questions

and many thanks for all the inside stuff man, great job as usual.

Goodday
Locks , i would like to know firstly is their super 14 ?
