ps3 Fifa 08 TRF Tornament

Bro, the game against you was my 7th game I have played. I still can't beat the fricken AI for farks sakes.

I just had in my head to keep possesion and time my passes right and I managed to put together a really good game on attack and for the most part defence, I just can't score goals. Gimme some tips guys.

Might fiddle with the settings and see if I can do something to direct my shots better, I've been playing with newbie controls so might have to start experimenting.

This is a real cool game and with more time and practice I will eventually score more goals and hopefully win one one day.

If Euro is a decent step up from this I can't wait till Fifa 09.

Yeah I wish I could play you at soccer during the weekends but Friday night and Saturday night I am at my lady's house.

Loved the game we had....and I am sure you will be scoring goals soon enough......you were so close putting it in. Lucky you didn't have a 5 star team or those shots would have been in for sure! NZ players can't score lol!

I guess it won't be long before you start dribbling it all around us and scoring at will eh?

Well me and woosaah had another game and what an improvement for woosaah as he kept it scoreless all the way till the penalty shootout.

Lucky the penalty shootout is my specialty eh....

woosaah tried out his microphone and even though I couldn't hear him that well I could tell when he was telling me to hurry up and push start lol! I also heard him talking to his flatmate haha!

haha yeah i need to sort out my settings, i have only just plugged it in and enabled it.

your the first person i have played it with on was a good game, i got some decent possession. i got a bit annoyed with my flatmate jumping in and out of the screen every now and again.

Thanks for the game bro, I enjoyed that. I don't think I did anything special, just tried to keep posession and field position, a lot like a game of Rugby or League really, just keep it away from my half as much as possible and put all the pressure on you in your half.

I'm still fiddling with a lot of things trying to suss it out, I think one thing I had to change was not having the auto assist on everything, so the one I changed which made a real quick difference was...well you can guess what that was.

3 games against radman after not being able to stay connected with craig...

first game a lucky 3-0 win to me, with the first goal comin off the header second a gaol from a penalty (you really need to stop sliding in the box just in case ) and the 3rd on full time with a lucky cross over the goalie

second game a bit more sedate 1-0 with me missing a few open goals, third game 1-0 to radman. damnit got one in XT (extra time for you big GG)

great stuff though loved playing radman, i seamed to have a bit of possesion for a change all good

I was pretty nervous playing you, and just lost the plot when you scored those first two quick goals, everything sort of fell apart, I was rattled early, I was thinking...here we go... Ass kicking time, but, I got my composure back gradually as we kept playing and accepted the first loss as a bit of a look see to see what you got.

Second game was great, started feeling more composed and just stuck to my guns and put up a good fight.

Third game, great back and forth struggle that I hung in and took it into extra time and got the lucky goal and held on.

I couldn't hear your ps eye very well, it was very muffled, all I could hear was the odd ohh! here and there when you missed a goal or scored. I dunno if I want to try mine out as I feel more comfortable just concentrating on the game but I might give it a crack next time to see what it's like for laughs.

I will have to reassess how I play you Rad...you have a different way of defending and you covered my passing lanes well when I got in your half....very impressive.



Had a game with woosaah who had improved big time....went all the way to penalties. You guessed it woosaah....I am confident in a penalty shootout and woosaah blew his chance after I missed my first penalty kick by driving his second shot wide! Two more saves and I am in.



Had two games with Craig which were real toughies. Went into extra time in the first game and I got a penalty in the box which I converted while Craig did not dive. With Craig pushing forward everything to try and equalise I twice couter attacked and scored two more to make the score 3-0 even though this was not a reflection of the score.

The second game was tough as well until the 80th minute when Craig got down the right side after I had defender my flanks for so long so well. I tried to trip him up but he got away and the cross was sent unmarked with the inevitable header into the net. The next 10 minutes it was my turn to push forward play catchup and Craig capitalised on this by scoring another.



All these games were great playing against people you know...i really enjoyed it!

So once I get through a couple games with you I guess we can get this comp started on the weekend maybe.

well you guys can jump in, chose a team in the leagues section. you have the pm for the room name and the password just jump in there and once everyone has a team and stuff ill reset it back to 0 as me and craig have already had a game or two. that way EA can take care of the leaderboard and stuff

Couple of great game against Gay-Guy last night. the first one was plenty tough on me. I held the possession master at 0-0 and then went into extra time. He scored 3 goals in extra time.

The first one was a real rough call, he took a shot on goal and I made a standard (non-sliding) tackle from side on. My tackle did nothing as his player still got away his shot and my goalie parried it away. It didn't stop the game awarding a penalty for the tackle though. Aaaarrrrrggghhhh!!!

The second goal was a mad scramble and my goalie tipped the ball with his fingers straight back to one of Gay-Guys waiting forwards. I should never have allowed him to get into that position. A well deserved goal for all the lead up work. I must admit I was still distracted by fuming over goal one.

After that, Gay-Guy put a third into my net with a goal that was a well worked wee gem. A well timed cross and a fine header. This was the goal that he could've scored at any moment of the 90 minutes of regular time and it would've ended the game at 1-0. I wish it had, lol.

The second game I won 2-0, with 2 goals after the 80th minute. I'm near the end of sorting my ridiculous connection out, so bring on that tourney!

I have to say, what a strong community the ps3 one is developing into. I haven't seen this focused an effort to have a TRF online tourney on any other machine.

then when i am done - they are already playing someone in north korea
xbox live is an everywhere machine

but heck - playing fifa - come on - u have the better machine on the lesser game - time to play ball with ball, and get EURO08 for the ultimate.

anyway GTAIV has captured us all - i cant play anything else, and by looking at my fellow Xbox live TRF'ers its all the same stuff - GTA or nothing - we played FIFA many an era ago my friend

Bro, the 29th of April was PS3 and GTA4 launch for me, I got COD4 and Fifa08 as well as Gran Turismo Prologue with the PS3 to see what all the fuss was about and I wasn't dissapointed in fact I've been blown away by all 4 games and it is hard to dedicate time to just one at a time when you got such a great set of games to play.



I'm really enjoying Fifa08 at the moment 'cos I seem to have got to grips with it's basics fairly quickly and seem to be somewhat good at it and because of that I want to dedicate some time to developing my game more. The other games will be played but atm it seems like I gotta get some practice in to learn some more skills to help give me an edge on the competition.



I'm not sure we'll all empty our wallets for euro too quickly so soon after getting this so I'd assume we'd give that a miss and just get 09 in a few months and see how much it improves from 08 to 09.



Then again if a Rugby or Cricket game comes out end of year, we may not give a toss about Fifa or any game for that matter because we'd dedicate all our time to Rugby or Cricket, I would if a decent Cricket game was released.

Our connectivity may have been due to capped broadband plans reduced to dial up speed and modems. I only got uncapped speed back on last week and the others have had plans and modem issues.

Though we may all be coming right now....this week we are CONNECTING!

Too right about those games! Gee I am considering buying COD4 as it is really good...like really good...ok it is amazing!

I won't play GTA: IV as I am one of the rare ones who don't like it.

GT4 I have slowed down a bit to play because Fifa is a bit more exciting.

The one I wish i had is Fight night 3.

Just got beat 2 games to 1 by GG, I won the first 1-0 with an early goal and solid D to hold him out. The second game went to penalties after either of us couldn't crack one, he cheated lol, I didn't know about the moving around in the ingoal and lost my composure...

In the third game I did my hoary slide tackle in the in goal and gave away a penalty but miraculously saved it but he slid one in late in the game from a defensive lapse to take a 1-0 win.

He started pulling out the tricks, I was lol!.



I still got a lot of work to do to get better at this,
