No mention of them getting rid of the balloon effect shots?

Still I may be tempted to buy, eventhough it may only last a month or so.

I'll sell you PES2 for $3,000.

Unfortunately they do not ship the game with someone able to teach you how to play properly..........

hey bro!!!

I have got an updated version of PES2 that I can get hold of pretty soon.....

It's called:

PES5

Yep....

and they invented the wheel -just so you know.

But the square one is kinda cool anyway.

PES5 really does sound the goods by all reports.......would have to be my most eagerly awaited video game this year.......

Master league is pretty much the same though, as are the graphics, but Konami are really pushing the boundaries of the PS2 now so imagine what they will be able to do on the new generation consoles.

Time to get this thread on the march again, imo.
This might help get things rolling.........

UK PS2 Mag review of PES5 (taken from PESInsight):

Looks like the difference between PES5 and PES4 is the biggest change of direction gameplay wise since the change between PES1 and PES2. For long time players like myself this massive learning curve has got to be good!!

That PES 5 review was weird.. They go on about all the annoying things about the game, but still manage to give it 10/10. I'm afraid I may be sticking to pro evo 2 for a while.. then again, if fifa 06 is anything like the demo, then fifa may be the game to make me finally chuck pro evo 2 in the bin!

Locksley has had PES5 for a while. He tells me it is much slower paced.

Which is a good thing for me. PES4 often seemed a tad quick and unrealistic. PES5 sounds like it's back to the roots, and is supposedly alot more realistic.

What! PES4 seemed unrealistic? Back to it's roots? Dude, PES4 is the pinnacle of soccer gaming at the moment, anybody who thinks it is unrealistic compared to previous versions of PES is obviously not playing the game right...

You misunderstood, I think the game is very realistic, but at points the animations go too fast, such as turning and running. Looking back my post didn't really reflect what I was trying to say, but sometimes things do seem too quick in PES4.

PES4 is my favourite game, and the only one I consitently play, but reading posts around the PES sites, people are saying PES5 is more realistic.

Ohhhhh, the turning! I thought you were saying overall it was unrealistic. I'd forgotten about it... yeh it was almost impossible defending someone running up the sideline when they magically cut back (disregarding momentum!) to send the cross. Great game though, best sports ***le out there imo.

Anyway definately looking forward to PES5. Must-buy of the year.

Hopefully this time it doesn't have the "asian arcade flavouring" ie the menu's, the music, the baloons!, and the crazy menu sounds....

Not to mention the love they show for Asian players (being a Japanese game, they can be biased...) One player, I bought into AC Milan, could have been Ji Sung Park? Anyway, totally overated, seen him play in real life, he ain't that good.

...........any chance of locks giving a review on here??

I must be the only one around in the universe who will be looking at PES5 and hoping for vast improvements as I actually preferred Fifa 2005 better than PES4. The reasons for I listed ages ago.

Playing Fifa2005 on my custom set broadcast view on a widescreen is simply AWESOME! One of the few games that truly took advantage of the widescreen view. When the shot pans around it almost looks 3D!
