Premiership Rugby 21/22 - Rd 13

Interesting TMO decision in the opening minutes at the Rec.
But my stream is goitching and I can't give an opinion...

ETA red for Sutherland - head on head with mitigation being a THP's "sidestep"

80m and 80s later, try Rocco (good hands and play, not convinced the extra man made any difference there)

Didn't look like a penalty try to me, was never going to give that pass.
Even as a Wasps fan I am inclined to agree with you, however I don't really mind soft penalty tries if long term it reduces the amount of cynical plays too many go unpunished.

Shilcock confuses the entire Bath defence by running diagonally towards the corner flag.
Scores the try

Last year, that was a nailed on try for Bath, but without pre-binding, we just don't know what to do, and give it to isolated players 1m from the line, until we eventually put a pod together, and they don't know whose job it is to catch it, so don't...

ETA: Nice play there from JJ (grubber) and Ojomoh, he doesn't quite get control of the ball, and I think that's no try.
ETA: TMO disagrees, and try given. Bailey 2 from 2 with conversions.

Brilliant grubber by TdG.

May even be a 50:22
ETA, nope, just a 5m defensive lineout

Bath put a maul together which crabs 15m infield before advancing 15m.
I'm not convinced the extra man has actually been material yet (beyond psychology).

ETA: Sorry, it would have given TdG space on the grubber. Not sure which winger Wuss sacrificed (Humphreys, ETA he's the right wing, so yes for TdG's grubber)

Yellow and penalty try seems a bit of a double punishment.

I'd say as he was blindside of the ball, he was hedging his bets that the tackle going in on the ball carrier was going to make him offload, and if he waited to make sure then the reciever would have been over the try line and it would have been too late.

You wouldn't know bath were against 14... Embarrassing. This close against 14 pretty much for the whole half against the 2nd lowest ranked side.

If your prepared to hedge your bet that close to your line then you run the risk of the yellow and PT

Also lucky Cole got away with repeated slowing by their line Cole not releasing and was just in off his feet in that play, he has got away with some.

Wuss spot a mismatch out wide, and get the ball to Batley, with only a wrong-footed Fox in defence.
Batley makes the 3m required.

******* butchered a certain try
Richards bought the dummy and put his hands down.
Schoolboy mistake, albeit from a schoolboy.

On the plus side, were running them around a lot, so tired legs should tell for the last 15 minutes.
Wingers are relatively easy to cover in absence, if you're not wanting to kick behind.

Our defence is terrible though, especially close to the line where everyone's ball watching, with no idea where their man is or where they're moving to.
See no-one knowing who's supposed to tackle Shilcock, and no-one trying until it's too late. Then Fox not knowing where Batley was standing and defending the gap between the attackers.

What the **** was that review of Tiger's try?

Very quick and I think they've got that very wrong.

Standard of reffing is sooooooo bad for this level.

Question is how do you fix it without pumping more money into the officials

Never got why JP was let go
