Official Super League 2006 Thread

Good weekend for Quins RL - finally a home win, and a big win against Wigan at the JJB.

Wigan really are in trouble at the moment, but I honestly can't see it lasting all season, they just have too many talented players ... no idea why they aren't firing at the moment.

They aren't firing, IMO, because they aren't all that talented afterall... they are all disinterested mercenaries interested only in their next paypacket. I am sure however that Cas or Wakefield will bail Wigan out by being dreadful outfits!

As for the Quins, it was a big weekend for them, especially beating Wigan, and it should give them a platform to clear the bottom 2 and consolidate.

Wigan have a few decent players. However you're right, they have no real interest in Wigan RL.

and it made me late for work all this talk about nobby when do we find out?

Did anyone see the Quins game on Sky on Saturday - if so, can you tell me why the Quins try (by Mbu) in the first half was disallowed by the video ref and called back for a penalty.
Chris Warren in the stadium was announcing it was probably for obstruction back on the 20m, and the match report said the grounding ... but couldn't see anything on the big screen myself.

Sorry guys, forgot again:

Relegation battle currently looks to be between Quins and Wigan - who still have to play each other twice, both times at Twickenham.

Cheers Mighty Quin, I appreciate the help.

Just got to hope that the Quins squeeze out the odd win here and there, so we can relegate the vermin into the first division. Wigan are very much up against it at the moment, I hope we can utterly demoralise them in a fortnight.

If they lose to us and Leeds in successive weeks, and teams like Quins, Wakefield, the Cats, keep sneaking wins, then they could be out of sight by the end of May.

I can live without 2 good home crowds a season just to see your shower rot in the NHL1. Our merchandising can cover that.

If we get our act together there's still around 20 points to be picked up. It isn't as if we have got the worst squad in the league. If we drop Moran a few times maybe he'll realise that his place isn't granted and maybe he'll start playing well.

It's not just Moran though mate, it's a lot of players.

Orr is rubbish, Higham is average, O'Loughlin not as good as everyone first thought, Fletcher a cheap shot thug... there's so much wrong with that club.

You're right in saying that there's a lot to play for, but I doubt the ability, passion and commitment in the Wigan squad.

Quins don't look like they could beat an egg at the moment though - I shouldn't think even Barrow at the weekend will be a walkover!

I still think Sat 1st July - Quins v Wigan will be a huge game - can't see either of them picking up more than 1 or 2 wins between now and then.

As for Moran ... he was outstanding at the Broncos - he's not a shadow of that at Wigan - must be too many pies! :p
