NZ Maori Vs England

32 - 28
Agreed, England haven't looked like scoring since the first half :(

Strettle gives away a penalty
35 - 28
Pretty much game over :(

Geraghty pushes a penalty touch finder too far,
Was probably Englands last attacking chance of the match

Foden with a cracking collect and run, kick goes too far though

Massive effort at the end, almost got the try, but Maori turnover and kick out

35 - 28

Cracking game of rugby!

This is the situation for the Northampton, no team knows how to score a try in overtime like this better.

Am I wrong?
Weeeelll, I don't pretend to be an expert at all, but you seem to dismiss players out of hand - the likes of Tait and Haskell, who you say aren't good enough, but could potentially be two of the best players in Britain. With the world cup now fast approaching who would you prefer in place of the people you said 'no' to who have the experience and quality to contribute to a successful tournament down under?

As it stands, i'd rather have Hodgson on the bench than Wilkinson, he's got a better running and passing game, and these days his boot is as reliable as Wilkos

Obv i'm a little biased, but Wilkinsons not impressed in a long time, and Hodgson played much better this tour than Wilkinson has in a while

Sadly i agree about Tait. He's the new Hodgson, good at club level, but can't bring it to internationals

Well done NZ Maori. Anyone still think Hosea Gear isn't AB material? Or is 3 tries not enough?

And now everyone jump on to the "Gear needs to be an AB" bandwagon, so my legion of three will become many.

The Maori fully deserved that, they were the better team throughout and nilled England through the 2nd half. Worthy of it alone.

But they can't.

Tait is famous for being hyped up then smacked down by Henson, then one run in one match 3 1/2 years ago. Since then he's done bugger all for club or country.

Haskell is famous for being Dallaglios idiot understudy and never consistently being anything but below par.

I agree with Olyy about Charlie vs Wilko, although there'd be a tabloid outcry if golden ******** wasn't selected.

I can see it now: "Englands only World Cup hope dropped in favour of northern lad who can't tackle"

Hey! I've always been a Gear supporter! :p

Hosea Gear aye? he was being marked off the park! the midfield was flying up leaving holes in the middle of the field just so Gear couldn't get any ball and he still bagged 3 tries! The only possible reason Graham Henry has for not picking him now is stubbornness and not wanting to look bad for second guessing himself.

How about McAllister too? I havn't seen him accelerate like that since he was a kid in North Harbour, I have been pleased with Benson Stanley but he can't have a hope in hell of keeping his spot for the trinations.

Also, If Aaron Smith misses out on a Super 14 spot next year again i will be spewing. If the 'Canes pick up Tyson Keats over him again i'll go on a rampage.

Who did the NZ tv guys give MOTM? I would have guessed McAlistair (or if they're being dumb, Gear for finishing off the tries McAlistair created).

Must have been Gear, I have a feeling it would have been form throughout the series and not just in the match

Liam Messam is a hero too.

Gear and Luke for the AB's. Brett is an excellent defensive flyhalf. Never misses a tackle and how many turnovers did he win in the two "tests"?

Undefeated Maori. Well done *applause*

In reverse, people shouldn't forget Robshaw who was outstanding from start to finish.

Definately, i didn't realise he was as young as he was.
He deserves at least a bench spot in the full squad (him over Haskell)
