Nahhh I can honestly say Ive seen the error of my ways. Smith is a seriously classy player. Ive said it numerous times before and I'll say it again that he makes New Zealand tick. It will always be Smith + 1 in the All Blacks midfield for me. As for his form with the Hurricanes, well thats obviously not his fault. He should be commended for remaining loyal to them.
O'Driscoll on the other hand. Well if you remove things like results, scores and performances (even current ones) from the equation ........ there is really little substance to him. Hes got half the talent of players like Ashton, nowehere near the potential that Henson ever had, but was lucky to play rugby at a time when every other nation was kinda shite.
Any records hes broken were bullshit, things like defense and leadership dont count because well they arent flash enough, In fact I'd say those two, and the ability to kick the ball from hand should be treated as negative traits when evaluating players.
On the other side things like International form, nationality (genes are critical when analysing players ability), and the ability to Chaaarrrrggggeeee! are far more important.
Anyhoo, all these factors conspire to make O'Driscoll look like a slightly above average player who will always pale when compared to the might of any All Black.
All Blacks rule.
