I cant rate Ali Williams after almost two whole years out tough I really hope he comes back as good as ever because he would score ~93 by his form back in 2008.
Sivivatu has been the best wing in the world at times but long time out with injury and he looked a shadow of his former self in those couple of games for waikato.
Rokocoko has lost his cutting edge in test rugby, hes no longer a reliable source for trys. All Black's of the last decade or more seemed to score a crap load of trys from their #11 and as good as roks has been in other areas of the game it's been a really dry run for trys. Dagg, Gear & Kahui all made better fists of the chances they got playing 11. Kahui scored the 2nd best individuel AB try of the year in the chance he got and looked dangerous every time he got the ball and Dagg scored the best indiviuel AB try of the year and finished off another critical match winner vs. SA as well.
Jimmy Cowan has been an awesome All Black had a really important year for the AB's in 2008, great tackler, kicker and compedator around the ball. But AB's dont need another loose forward IMO they need FAST BALL and IMO Jimmy hasn't been fast enough for a couple of years and under the new rules that suit ball running 9's the best he can do is hit the ball up. Hope he gets back to his best for next year but right now I dont think he's good enough.
Leonard is injury prone - partly because he's so dam committed in everything he does on attack and defence he really puts his body on the line, but when he's fit and fireing he is the most lethal attacking 9 in NZ and he produces lightning fast ball. Really it's only the fact he's injury prone that stops me from rating him above Mathewson.
Peri Weepu - IMO weepu is critical to the AB's chances of winning the world cup. With the tallent and ability he has he should be without a doubt the best 9 in the world. But he has fitness issues and he's often just too relaxed in his approach to the game and the team environment. He've had glimpses of just how good he is this year and I hope like hell he's back to his best for the WC.
I'm not a huge fan of Braid I'd rather have Vito in the squad. Even they aren't spec 7's I think vito or Messam in particular would be better cover for McCaw.
I know some/most people wont agree with me but if the world cup was tomorrow I'd pick sonny Bill over Nonu. Sonny Bill has so much to learn but still he's not put a foot wrong and he has an undeniable and unique ability to attack and a great head & work ethic for big games. As awesome as nonu is he's prone to trying to do too much when things dont go his way and also dropping off more tackles than he should inbetween such class defenders as Carter & Conrad smith.
Been really impressed with Hika's work around the field but most importantly his throwing has been spot on. Come WC time lineout throwing is going to become critical because against Aus & SA in particular as long as the AB's lineout is running at a respectable level we shouldn't lose.
