So has there been any update on the Luke situation? Apart from the articles were all looked to be from the same source all has been quiet on the Luke front - If Toulouse Officals had indeed arrived or were due to arrive we would be hearing about it on the TV News.

Best I can come up with is this from the local newspaper in Limerick:

"Earlier this year they [Munster] started asking about Ma'a Nonu. Then they started stressing their need for a full-back. They thought about Brent Ward (he's off to France) then Corey Jane (long term contract). Then they refocused on filling the inside centre berth and came back with about â'¬250,000 asking about Luke McAlister. When told of the offer made to him by Toulouse, Munster found another â'¬100,000. McAlister, though, was never serious about going and they realised that and broke things off fairly abruptly believing he was just using Munster to elevate his price with NZRU. Said a New Zealand source: "agents over here are a bit confused by Munster"

People in Munster are a bit confused by Munster. Latest talk is of Laulala (sp?) for inside centre. Do NOT laugh.

Anyway, looks like you've kept your preciousssss ... for now.

What I heard from Toulouse club insiders is quite similar : there was a solid verbal deal between toulouse and McAlister some month ago, but his dad is now making some unrealistic demands. They think he's just buying time and will eventualy sign a great deal with the NZRU.

Now everybody is crying at Toulouse because if we don't get luke, we might be forced to hire Gelez :wah:

His dad sounds like that double-crossing character from Jerry Maguire.

Charlie McAlister always talks balls, although looks like my guess was right about them just using overseas clubs to better the NZRFU offer.

Rawilson heading off to Worcester!!!!!!!!
And John Smit maybe heading foe Clermont!!!!!!!!

Well, Toulouse didn't get McAlister nor Larkham, so they switched strategies.

Kelleher (who broke his deal with Agen) has given his consent today for two years in Toulouse and he will play scrum-half while Elissalde will play fly-half (his a former position).

Elissalde at 10? Didn't know that. But Mignoni is now the man for France.

Always on time with the transfer news, Darhf.

Elissalde didn't play at 10 for Toulouse. Apparently they are still searching for a good 10. Du Toit can also play at 10 but he doesn't have the confidence of the coaches at this position.

(Thanks for the +rep)

Oh and the local toulouse paper says today that McAlister might go to Sale, and that his dad got a reserve coach job in the club.

Tana Umaga starts a general manager carreer at Toulon. New recruits:

Orene Ai'i, arrière samoan -
Fotunuupule Auelua, n°8 samoan -
Alessio Galasso, pilier français -
George Gregan, n°9 australien -
Mafileo Kefu, ouvreur ou centre tongien -
Esteban Lozada, seconde ligne argentin -
Andrew Mehrtens, ouvreur néo zélandais -
Anton Oliver, talonneur néo-zélandais -
Tusi Pusi, ouvreur samoan -
Wessel Roux, pilier sud africain -
Lawrence Sephaka, pilier sud africain -
Saimone Taumoepeau, pilier néo-zélandais -
[/b]

And that's a 2nd division team

AND his dad! Har har - tell Ripper.

I thought you said Munster were about to "swing" things... and apparently he has signed with both Toulouse and Biarritz in the last 6 months. Leicester were apparently also had him snagged as well.

With the evidence so far Papa just seems to be trying to get as much money from the NZRFU as possible.

Munster have 4 centres for next season!! Mafi, Halstead, Murphy and Kieran Lewis. Why do they need more??!!! They need a full back is clearly what they need!!

lmao Tusi Pusi..

That guy makes Tasesa Lavea look like Dan Carter and Carlos Spencer put together.

Tusi Pusi is horrible.

Hardowt..and i really dont know why michael jones kept on putting him in fly-half for the pacific islanders tests, even though he was playing horrible. George Pisi is much better than he imo

Because McAlister is twice as good as all those hacks put together.
[/b]

ya i'm well aware but they really need a full back, shaun payne's like the only one they have of any decent quality

It is confirmed that Percy Montgomery and Gerrie Britz will join the USAP (Perpignan) for next season, i.e. just after the RWC.

Kevin Senio has confirmed that he would play for the Castres Olympique next season.

LOLZA

Gotta love Munster's way of "swinging it" - a Munster player convinced him to back away :lol2tn:

And Toulouse must be run by retarded monkeys if they approached Lavea, not sure what that "source" is on about in that article either, McAlister has no intrusion in his private life that I know of, he's never in the media and the ads for the Womans Day never mention him, didn't even know he had a wife.
