Dark horse must be the Colts.
Peyton didn't it again in postseason
The catch rule will no doubt be changed in the off season. Had Bryant extended thats a TD, cannot see why the same or similar rule be applied. Whatever people say the 'Boys gave it a real good go. Should have won that and had the chances to do so. Problem comes now. Off season and lot of people are off.
Yeah. I didn't realise how awful his January record was until last night when tv were saying it. But if last night was his final game well I salute him as he was a magical player
He's not been playing well for the last 2 months, I was wholly unsurprised when news of him playing injured turned up - it's pretty clear from the decline in performance.
Broncos also FireFoxed - likeable coach, good player development, and has done a lot to turn the Broncos around after Mc****head but tbh it's hard to see him winning the SB. I still haven't really got over the SB last year as the Broncos were simply not prepared enough to even make a game out of it and that starts at the top. They weren't even prepared for the noise levels. Long-term, I think it's the right move.
I accept he was injured this year but his record over career in January and stats are less than expected. Regards Fox I think he's an excellent coach who'd make a stamp as time developed more but Broncos don't have time. I'm expecting Peyton to stay 1 more year and well a new head coach to bring in the game for now and we'll simply throw it all in to 1 year before franchise goes back and starts again to build.
I know Peyton's numbers drop in the postseason, but they're not horrible. Also, the Colts' Ds were pretty undersized for most of the 2000s so they usually got the crap beaten out of them by the more physical teams in the playoffs. That said, there is probably something there. For all of Manning's wholesome public image, there's something about him which just screams hubris which could well play into it.
As for Fox, I think he's a good coach who builds some pretty tough teams; he's also a classy guy and seems to get on well with his players. At the same time, I don't believe he'll win a SB until he has really dominant personnel on D. He has a super-conservative streak which has cost the Broncos on more than one occasion. And as I said above, the Broncos have been outcoached on a number of occasions during his tenure - the Superb Owl being most notable but not the only one. You say that he'd make a stamp on the team as time developed, but he's coached the Broncos for 4 seasons and to me it feels like the team's topped out despite having an excellent roster (the OL is probably the most glaring due to the lack of a decent RT) and I've found it pretty easy to predict when the Broncos are going to run into trouble. Somebody said that he reminds them of Dan Reeves in many ways, and that may be one of the reasons he's out in Denver.
Go Pack Go!
