I have really had enough of this mod. I don't know how to fix these issues that i DONT have on my game and have never had. What works on my PC won't work on anyone elses. If i can't fix this, i won't release anymore, there is no point.. more trouble than it's worth. All i released was a roster, and some gamefiles and the whole thing is turning into a nightmare.
What type of crash is it anyway..? i need more description on 'crash'? Does the game freeze, crash to desktop?
I would suggest NOT to use the mup.pro.. not because it's bad but because the settings in it are fine for me are not for others, and it causes crashes for some people. If the game crashes from an injury, i don't know how it is happening, unless it's the try/injury bug.. which is a game bug.
Don't use my roster and see if it happens. Try reducing the injury frequency in the options, and if that's coupled with too high a resolution or detail setting it might be causing an issue.
I would suggest not to use mup.pro, but you can actually save a new profile from MUP09 which will give you a personally calibrated profile plus all the benefits.

Ok i've hit a wall in the mod, theres two times when the game crashes, to desktop, rugby2008.exe not working or what ever.
1. Is when trying to change the Lions team - which i can see is logical as the game dosent want to let you choose from any nation. I just thought this was a minor glitch
2. (a little more serious) I have been playing the world league, which is soooo much more enjoyable with the mod its acctaully a good premiership career mod!
But i now have one game of the season remaining, plus the cup final. problem is after the cup final (just before the end of the season screen) the game crashes, as soon as i go to the World League main menu. I have tried forfiting the game, winning and loosing (and clicking continue so fast that it might get past the next screen hahahaha) - this is really annoying becuase the mod is really good, and has made a 5/10 game an 8/10 game! and i want to take my team, with its changes into the next season. I dont want to start again.
+ 3. (silly things that make no differnece)
- Paul Sackey has White legs
- some refs where team shirts...
- some refs where head guards.
- also really happy with the new players added, really good. Theres acctually two people in there who i played with at school.

[/b]I have done some testing of the MUP09 download files, and it appears that my system has caused a problem, the good news is that it is fixable.
Basically, the files in my main directory which i was compiling MUP09 with are different to what appears in my actual game. My game seems to be loading 'ghost files' from it's exe. If i add the exe, it does not resolve the issue.
If i remove the files from the folder, they actually give me the real files.. which are NOT updated in some places, so i am getting a mix of original, MUP beta and MUP09.. and that is what you have got. This makes sense why no-one has given me glowing praise, because it still looks unfinished and half-arsed.
So, the files that you all have are NOT the true files i have on my game that i was testing. I am not sure if it is vista related, but to fix it i have to update the affected files with the new graphics, then all the bugs (that are not PC spec related) should be resolved.
If you have a mismatch of files, it will cause the crashes in World League etc and also rdf, well for some people.
I will leave the files up, as there is nothing wrong with them, but essentially you just have another beta version.. all you need is the updated files that my mod actually has!
I hope this has not caused too much inconvenience, i have learned another thing about this game and now i can avoid it.

I can reveal that some compatibility of Vista and FSHed is causing this problem. It works like this.
Since MUP beta, i was editing some of the files in the main directory, and not copying them in from other folders. What happens is that the file updates within the folder, but if you copy it, and open it up it remains the same as it was before you updated it.
So, a lesson if you use Vista is that you MUST ALWAYS copy files into the main directory, and NOT EDIT THEM in the folder. For some reason, with it being a game, it actually means that the files you have imported in this way are not actually saved properly, but will appear in the game.
This is why any files downloaded and copied into the directory will work. The only ones of mine that don't work are the ones i edited in the folder.. i can tell because all of the backgrounds i COPIED and the minikits i IMPORTED.
As far as i'm aware this is a Vista compatibility issue with FSHed.
Now all i have to do is do all the last updates again but outside the directory. Then the files will work properly, i hope.

Me and my mates at uni have been playing on rugby 08 with MUP09 and it's completely revived the game for us, especially because we are rugby league fans and we can have Gasnier vs Sonny Bill in france. Thanks for all your efforts they are greatly appreciated.

Glad to see that the MUP is on-line, I have just installed my Rugby 08 again, so no updates or mods are running on it. What files of the MUP09 do I need to download to get all the latest stuff onto the game?

Rightm you can use all the files i uploaded, they are all ok. It's not the original teams, i have made the teams from Europe, so there is no Super14.
I am having some major issues with this patch. I made a brand new directory to test the game and i'm having other problems now, caused by Vista. So the best thing for me to do i have decided is to perhaps make a patch of the original game. I am making it now.. i am installing kits, and minikits too. The roster and audio is unaffected.
This project has been a real passion of mine and it is just deflating to find that although i have made a perfect mod, i can't replicate that to another PC, maybe it's Vista, maybe it's not.
ALL the files have to be copied to the directory, with no editing inside the files in the directory. This is going to be a very long task because of the nature of the difficulty of the system EA used.
So, i think that i will ditch the TOP14 mode and just leave the game as basic as possible, so there is less editing. Nearly all the things i have added will work, but testing it and getting to another PC is quite hard it appears.
I will aim to have the original game patch done by the end of the Super 14, or the end of the Euro season.. i can't say how long it will take to resolve 2 months of editing.
I will do all i can. It will be best in future for any mods that i will make all the files, upload them in packs (like a kitpack, minikit pack, logopack for the entire game) as that way thwere won't be any hidden surprises at the end.
I'm gutted with this problem i have. I couldn't sleep last night because it worried me so much i had to come and sort stuff out.

I really need to speak to someone who knows something more in depth about files. I am just copying my MUP09 Euro files in the new directory and in the search, EVERY file has a duplicate. Can anyone explain why i have a duplicate of every file, because i didn't put them there.
