This may not be the case as the coach has since inducated the squad would be selected following the Tonga match. This would ring true as changes have been made right up to kickoff in the PNC

Cross these guys off the list: Logovii Mulipola, Filipo Levi, Timoteo Iosua, Maurie Fa'asavalu and Eliota Sapolu IMO.

Samoa: Paul Williams, Sailosi Tagicakibau, George Pisi, Seilala Mapusua, Alesana Tuilagi, Tusi Pisi, Kahn Fotuali'I, George Stowers, Maurie Fa'asavalu, Taisina Tuifu'a, Daniel Leo, Kane Thompson, Anthony Perenise, Mahonri Schwalger (c), Sakaria Taulafo. Reserves: Tii Paulo, Census Johnston, Filipo Lavea Levi, Manaia Salavea, Brenton Helleur, Eliota Fuimaono Sapolu, James So'oialo.

That is an awesome side, scary in fact. Wouldn't surprise me if they beat Wales in the world cup. Add Joe Tekori in at second row and possibly Henry Tuilagi and thats pretty much full strength.

thats a strong squad... the only changes i would make is if iosefa tekori wasnt injured... ide start him over daniel leo and ill have jonny faamatuainu in as a back up over filipo levi... also i would put henry tuilagi at #8 instead of george stowers any day for heny is the best #8 in the world... other than that the team looks good

This is a really strong side for Samoa, and after spending the last few weeks together. We should see a close game and am expecting Kahn Fotuali'i to direct his forwards as he did in the EOY Tour 2010. Expect some great trys and big hits. Let's do this boys. Hopefully Samoa pull of a big upset or give Australia a run for their money, that way we can get more super rugby players jumping aboard for the rwc 2011.

I believe in the team. Glad to see Cencus Johnston back in the team which leaves out Logovi'i Mulipola (Sorry Mulipola, but we need Johnston at back up as he is a far superior player). While Im happy to see Manaia Salevea and James So'oialo brought into the team its a shame they were brought in at Ofisa Treviranus and Fa'atonu Fili's expense. I feel the latter two couldve made more of an impact coming of the bench but I guess its the coaches decision at the end of the day. Best of luck to the team, hopefully a good result win or lose and we can carry some positive momentum building up toward the RWC.
aucklander, I had to be negative, but I don't think a good result in this match or at the RWC will change anything in regards to bringing more of an interest for players eligible to put their hands up and play for Manu Samoa. In a professional age, its all about the dollars and the cents and there is and probably never will be any money playing for Manu Samoa...its all about pride and passion. Another problem is super rugby players who are considering putting their hands up end up not as they fear they'll jeopardize losing their professional contracts playing in Australia or New Zealand . Its all about sacrifice playing for Samoa, Some players are willing to make the sacrifice while others cant or wont.

Been along time coming for our tiny manu...malo boiz shot for the victory...victory against a tier1 nation.Samoa mo samoa.bring on the world cup.c u in rotovegas..got my tickets cheehoohooohooooooo:lol:

Not sure but those immediately to mind are Junior Polu & Henry Tuilagi. The squad is named on 27th August I believe following 2 games in Samoa against the Western Force.

Apart from those I think it would be pretty disrespectful for any Samoan eligible players outsdide of the original training squad to now show interest. I would be happy with a solid 30 man squad from the existing group.
