Just read on Setanta that Chris Malone has signed for London Irish, wonder does this mean they've given up hope on Warwick joining them next season.

Should imagine their on the scout for even more cover with the meeja putting Mike Catt into the Leicester job.

There was a rumour last week that Malone was on his way to the Plastic Paddies with Shane Geraghty moving in the other direction. Since the 1st part of the rumour has come true, I wonder if the 2nd part will too.

how long a deal does Evans have at Quins?[/b]
I'm not too sure but I'll guess that he's keeping his options open for a return to the All Blacks in 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if his contract ran out at the end of next season but, again, that's just a guess.

Yeah. I just tried the quins website and there's no mention in the article of how big long his contract lasts. Can't find anywhere else to say, but I'd guess they'd say if he's only here for one season. Next season seems most likely, particularly with thw impending world cup and all.

couldn't find anything other than the fact that he's reputedly on £320000 a season. Fair whack for them to be paying out for more than 2 seasons.

There's Waisea Luveniyali and a couple of guys from the academy like Seb Jewell who could come up to the proper squad. Luveniyali is an international for Fiji, but I wouldn't be surprised if we bring in someone else to help cover it.

Ah, thanks for that. June 2011 and with that all his chances for the world cup gone yeah? My French isn't all that great, but I think that's the general drift.
With someone like Evans until 2011, Quins should be fine unless he gets injured. still might see more cover being brought in though...

Evans wasn't picked by Graham Henry just after the RWC2007 (he prefered Donald no ?) so maybe he considered his chances were already over for 2011.

Well, given that he made a near miss of the last one, and his career is far from over, I would have thought he'd want to really secure his place for the next one, but I guess quins and life in England was more tempting than a possibility of a world cup four years in the future...
