Los Pampas XV should be fast-tracked into Super Rugby. 2012 could happen.

A heiniken cup format is not an option because the Australians dont have the player base or fan support to run their own competition. If we went to an HC format we would probably just lose most of australia to league within a few years.

what do you mean 'run their own competition'?? An Australian team playing in a HC format would still play home and away against teams from elsewhere...

I think what he is saying is that 'what would the Aussies do when not playing the Superugby matches', like a pro domestic league.
I could easily be wrong though, but otherwise it is a important point, surely such a format will lead to a significant drop in matches if games are only played in between group members?

I have said this before and will say this again, I am bloody grateful that I don't work at SANZAR

Firstly, as already pointed out, the current S15 format will not accommodate another team.

Secondly, Argentina NEEDS to sort out professionalism in their country first.
Who is gonna be the Los Pampas support base here? South Africans bare pitch for Aussie and Kiwi teams. They won't come to two foreign teams playing.

Thirdly, the Los Pampas don't currently have the players or structures to be a competitive team in Super Rugby. The Vodacom Cup teams are not a good gauge to use. They're filled with young and inexperienced players, most have not even played CC rugby.
To illustrate my point look how the Lions fare against the lower teams (Pumas, Valke, Boland) who take the same squad through to the CC. The Lions give them 50 point hidings.

Exactly what he said. The HC is a secondary competition to everyones domestic competition. Australia doesn't have one so theres a problem. While everyone else is playing the NPC and Currie Cup etc to find the qualifying teams, the Australians would be sitting around twiddling their thumbs watching all the fans file away.

I think the suggestion is that the franchises in Super rugby at the moment and Pampas XV play a H Cup format

and by the way the H Cup is not secondary to all team's domestic league, ask Munster fans

I reckon it could be possible to have the same format ..The southern kings team could be introduced into the league , with the pampas Playing in the Australian , and one more team playing in the New Zealand League ..Perhaps ideally it would be nice to see a team from the Pacific Islands enter a team into it :/

The problem with Australia is that Rugby Union has to compete with AFL and Rugby League, 2 sports that are more popular.

Yep the distance would be the largest problem with that I reckon ..also no offence to any Ozzies I just feel that a new team has a better chance of being competitive in it than in the other leagues :
