London 2012

Yeah, I'd expect Great Britain should win a couple of medal in the men's triathlon. Though the Brownlee brothers are favourites, I wouldn't rule out former world champ Javier Gomez. I quite enjoy watching the Olympic triathlon, possibly due to the fact that New Zealand have had some success in the event in the past (a Gold and Silver in 2004 was particularly memorable!). Jenkins looks like the clear favourite for the womens race, but I wouldn't rule out New Zealand's Andrea Hewitt, who has been very consistent over the last few years....
Absolutely.
Triathlon's also one of the sports where anything can/probably will go wrong. Accidental intake of water, collision with another swimmer, chain skipping off, puncture, cramp - can go from a clear gold to a DNF in a second.

Could be a decent day for GB today. First off the rowing, then the time trials followed by a possible chance in the 200m breast stroke in the pool. Fingers crossed.

There is one gold for you ;) Happy we got a bronze....

I thought the GB pair would lose pace, they started off very fast. Congratulations to them. And to GB for their first gold.

Btw, is there a short answer to why GB compete as GB and not as the UK? They include Nortern Ireland as well, right?

It used to be "Great Britain and Northern Ireland" we've since dropped the NI bit, no idea why.

Delighted for those rowers, one of whom is from down 'ere in Zummerzet, Yeovil I think. The time trials next and I have literally no idea how it works but will watch and enjoy.

I might have it wrong but I think it is a straight race against the stop watch. Fastest time over the distance wins.

congrats on the girls getting bronze. Gutted those aussies pipping the silver from them haha oh well. Exciting race for the silver and bronze.

Raising of the flags for the medal ceremony had a family like feel to it with all three flags looking similar.

Yes, now people have explained it like that it's stupidly simple and I look like a right spanner

Lads , we really shouldn't bother entering our athletes in anything save for the boxing...

Just a stunning ride from Wiggins there, forever immortalized in GB athletic history.

Yet I imagine Ryan Giggs will probably win sports personality of the year for captaining Team GB.

Great win by le Clos over Phelps.
A different kind of Shark :)

His father reminds me of a Supersport commentator "Unbelievable!".

She's dropped quite badly today although still has a chance if she recovers.

Nevin won again today and has a fight against a useful looking Mexican in the quarter if he wins though its a semi final and a medal.

Can't wait to see Darren O'Niell tomorrow if he wins it's possible for him to have a fight against Ogogu a GB fighter who the BBC have been really hyping up, O'Niell has beat him twice before though, it would be great for him to win a third time in a row securing an Olympic medal in doing so.

Looks like Bronze is Canada's clour of choice these games, still a nice haul of medals so far.

Ahh poo just thought the mens 4 man rowing was the final was celebrating like hell until someone said it was only the semi final :(

There's so much rowing going on.
We won the gold in the women's two "man" yesterday, but then there's more women's two "man" on right now
