London 2012

i realised last night i actaully didn't watch the opening ceremony :? the opening ceremony is all about the host country's history and culture etc... so i was cuttered i didn't watch England's... it would have been just like id imagined it... a bunch of brits invading a country and stealing all their resources... prob have a poor black guy representing SA, and a brit with the red uniform coming in and stealing the daimonds etc... have Williams Wallace there...freedom... is coming tomorow, no wait that is madeba song :? :D i need to stop my **** seriously
That was actually a decent trolling attempt. Shame it didn't catch on. Next time, try to make people believe you're serious.

Great Britain should not be topping the list, since it's actually several countries. They are cheating ;)

His trolling attempts has become redundant... even if he adds remarks like BOOM, it will still not attract flies to his ****...

I just had a look at the Medals table, based on TRF representation it will be as follows:

1. Great Britain - 18 Gold 11 Silver 11 Bronze
2. France - 8 Gold 9 Silver 9 Bronze
3. Italy - 7 Gold 6 Silver 4 Bronze
4. Netherlands - 3 Gold 3 Silver 4 Bronze
5. New Zealand - 3 Gold 1 Silver 4 Bronze
6. South Africa - 3 Gold 1 Silver 0 Bronze
7. Australia - 2 Gold 12 Silver 8 Bronze
8. Brazil - 2 Gold 1 Silver 5 Bronze
9. Canada - 1 Gold 3 Silver 6 Bronze
10. Argentina - 0 Gold 0 Silver 1 Bronze

Is Ireland at the Olympics??

Medals are too mainstream, we'll stick to hipster GAA.

Same could be said about the Netherlands and Holland... if we want to get technical.

Edit: Sorry about the double post

Nope. Netherlands is the country. Holland is a very old name for the region in the west. It consists of 2 provinces, Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland, but is not a country. It's the same as saying the Cape region and South Africa are 2 different areas. If we want to get technical....

Well, technically England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland aren't countries, they're nations. Oh, actually Wales is a principality.

Well, technically, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are entities regarded and referred to as countries, despite not being sovereign states.

Lol! I knew that would get your attention!

but actually Hout Bay is a republic all on it's own in the Cape...

I've really loved following the olympics thus far and think London has been a great host city. I didn't care much for the opening ceremony (apart from the rugby clips they threw in at the start) but the rest has been fantastic thus far and the settings are just amazing. I mean how could any host city hope to compete with the Thames for the rowing and Wimbledon hosting the tennis for example... can't be done.

I suppose SA's awesome start helps keep my interest. GB also doing exceptionally well. Other countries beside SA that have surprised me so far are Kazakstan and our old friends New Zealand. How great would it be if we and NZ finish above Aus LOL! Also Hungary are doing pretty well. Great show so far, thanks London.

LOL i see Husain Bolt met with Alex Ferguson, he wants a trail to play for man united :D

hell, SBW is a boxer and he can play brilliant rugby... why not Bolt @ man united???

Well the rumor is he wants to get a British passport so he can make a couple of false starts.

How is that possible? Bolt never trails.

Meh, just saying what I read... ";)"

A northern Irish rower got a bronze medal in the single man skulls (if that's even what it's called) a few days ago.

Brownlees and Gomez all in the lead group for the mens Triathlon - going to be some finish (though I expect Alastair to pull away on the run and it be Johnny vs Gomez for the Silver/Bronze, like it usually is in the ITU!).

Edit: 15s penalty for Johnny, should still be able to get the bronze as he/Alistair and Gomez pulled 10s away at the start of the run already.

Double edit: Gold and Bronze for the Brownlees, Gomez gets silver. Not bad at all! :D

From Milton Keynes. No mention of Irish ancestry on his wiki page. I might peruse the Team GB page, see if I can find any Norn Iron men there... I'd kinda expect some in the boxing at least, and maybe the hockey.

Anyway, the last word on NI Olympians in 2012 is here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-19019557

So basically any sport where it's okay not to have front teeth
