Licences???????

let us just remember, this is the world cup game..... hosted in NEW ZEALAND! if the game didn't include the license for the hosts, then that is just pathetic. I can see that possibly HB were not focusing on licensing as early as Sidhe, and that they were suprised by Sidhe's move, but the first priority for the developers would be to license the top ranked teams - that's where more people will buy the game. England and France may have large populatins, but in Australia and New Zealand, EVERYONE SUPPORTS THE GAME! Thats why they are ranked 1st and 2nd, they have a big pool of talent to select from and everyone supports the game. Thus the sales in Aus/NZ would be at least as nearly as big as those in England. No license for Wallabies and All Blacks = MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!

Yeah.nice idea but we don't live in a perfect world. Companies try to make as much money as possible. What's better for Sidhe? Just club licenses, or club licenses plus Wallabies, All Blacks and a smattering of other international teams. Not rocket science that one.

Thank you captain obvious :) You are not seeing the bigger picture here...some people arent buying one game because of their national team is not licensed etc. Now a clever move by both companies would to come to an arrangement as stated above, as people would like to play as both club and country...almost forcing consumers to buy both to get two different experiences...Obviously a companys' aim is to make a profit so they try and out do each other with all this licensing, however licensing teams here and there isn't going to eliminate competition, but in my view only hurting their potential profits they could of had. For SIDHE to make substantial damage they would have needed to license nearly all of the world cup nations.

that said, i cant see it happening. would be nice tho

This whole thing is a joke sidhe should stick to rugby league bring out a decent game for once their last attempt was dreadful that game clearly needed an extra year or more to develop now I feel like we are all going to end up with 2 very average rugby games
It has been far to long of a wait how old is the xbox 360 n ps3 like 10 yrs old and we are only starting to see a rugby games now and two company want to fight over licenses bloody hell you guys should just share all licenses and let the best game win. You both should be competing with gamplay graphics and features not who has the most licenses.

The Xbox 360 has been out 6 years and the PS3 5 years. In four more years when the next Rugby World Cup happens you'll be completely right about the Xbox 360 and will still have 12 months roughly until the PS3 is 10 years old.

I agree that Sidhe have not put out a really top quality Rugby League game for either Xbox or Playstation at any level as yet. They are using a new engine capable of much better physics animations now and have a budget much, much higher than they've had before. Still, it's possible that this game could be pretty average too. Hope not.

I was exaggerating about the 10 yrs but for me it feels like ten yrs I still to this day play rugby 08 on the ps2 this is not a dig at the companies making these I am glad at least some one is making a rugby game but to be petty and not share the rights for licenses just makes both games incomplete I will support both games and give them my money but I think alot of people now wont just for this simple fact. I would pay for any rugby game at this point no matter who made it and talking about budget they could of spit the costs and shared all licenses and put more money into the game it self
I think more people would buy it. Sports games need to be as close to the real thing possible in this day in age or it will end up feeling like playing a arcade game I pray that they see this is going to hinder their product an can come to some kind of arrangement because if one game fail and the other company wants make a new game next year they still will have to fight over rights of the licencse any way just hope these to company see the that this is going to ruin there games an make a deal to share.

How come RC has the Super Rugby Competition licensed but cannot use South African teams and players due to RWC 2011 buying the Springboks license, but they have the Aviva Premiership licensed with all the real teams and players when RWC 2011 have bought the license of the RFU and England?

For superrugby fake team names and players.. (probs have a slight resemblance in terms of kit colour etc. to actual teams) and they have a team editor iirc?
Aviva and the England licence are different then ofc.
