With it being the the LV= Cup fortnight, and Argentina and Italy not playing this weekend, I think Tigers could field a reasonably strong team. My guesses and hopes are:

A Ayerza/Bucknell
B Chuter/Duffey
C Castro/White
D Deacon
E Green/Gulliver
F Mafi
H Pienaar
G Crane
I Grindal
J Twelvetrees/Ford
K Robinson
L Manu Tuilagi
M Aguila
N Hurrel
O Amorosino

And yes, letters are being used for this game.:D

I thought this would be a big game like it will be here in Munster. A great chance to beat Aus who will be in high spirits after Hong Kong

I would be suprised if G. Murphy is not selected since he will be a needed leader on the pitch and he will be well up for playing against Australia since he is not selected in Irelands squad.

If club captain is sitting in stand watch and not having international commitment then that is a bad sign

I'd be surprised if he wasn't,
Not being on international duty he'll be chomping at the bit to have a go at one of the SH teams,
Being captain also counts towards him,
I expect at least a bench spot

Speaking of which: do the subs have letters/numbers? Or is it blank shirts?

Also also: won't Castro be off with Italy?

Hadn't thought of the club captain angle.

Subs used to have letters, too, so I imagine they will here.

As for Castro, I can picture him nigh-on demanding to play this, whether he will be allowed to remains to be seen. I've already demonstrated I don't know what I'm talking about.

Well, pretty much everyone I've picked are in the 23 for Harlequins, so I'm guessing there'll be a few guys I haven't heard of, on Tuesday.

Australia team:

Australia: 15 Peter Hynes (Reds), 14 Rod Davies (Reds), 13 Pat McCabe (Brumbies), 12 Anthony Faingaa (Reds), 11 Lachie Turner (Waratahs), 10 Berrick Barnes (capt, Waratahs), 9 Luke Burgess (Waratahs), 8 Richard Brown (Western Force), 7 Matt Hodgson (Western Force), 6 Scott Higginbotham (Reds), 5 Rob Simmons (Reds), 4 Van Humphries (Reds), 3 Salesi Ma'afu (Brumbies), 2 Huia Edmonds (Brumbies), 1 James Slipper (Reds).
Replacements: 16 Saia Faingaa (Reds), 17 Ben Daley (Reds), 18 Dean Mumm (Waratahs), 19 Pat McCutcheon (Waratahs), 20 Nick Phipps (Melbourne Rebels), 21 Matt Giteau (Brumbies), 22 Luke Morahan (Reds).

Not a bad team,
Berrick Barnes is an odd choice for captain, imo

How many caps between them? I recognise a few names from the 3N, it's gonna take a strong team to win this.

The front row looks a little brittle to me (although Ma'afu has definitely improved with test experience), I'd expect Humphries, Simmons, Higginbotham to be the pick of the forwards. the backs look very good. Hynes hasn't played for a while, and Rod Davies is quicker that Turner (who's very quick). Faingaa was pretty solid in his opportunities that he had in 3N, and Pat McCabe was in the Aus sevens team

... In short, if the backs get ball in space, they're in with a good show

Very strong team there!
Surprised no Stankovich, but very impressive nontheless!
Guess this means no A.Allen for England this weekend :(

Think Tigers will win this

Out for 3 months with an eye injury, hence the new (short-term) replacement prop.

Including Lions and Baa-Baas, there are 154 caps in the starting XV.

I'm so excited! :D

2 Decent teams and I hope Austrailia name a similar team vs Munster. Great to see few household names like Giteau in squad. I love these games and I think Leicester might surprise them
