It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaas!

The thing that annoys me is you spend all that money on the presents, then a couple of weeks later you see it for way cheaper in the post christmas sales!!!
[/b]
I remember as a kid one of my mates folks would buy his Chrissie present in the post Christmas sales and keep them in the cupboard until the next year...it's a pretty good idea if you ask me...

Yeah good idea, but they'll then (the presents) be a thing of the past if you buy them a year earlier meaning the kids will no longer think they're as rad as they were last xmas thus leading to great disappointment.

You shouldn 'tbe buying 'trendy' things at such moments, but things that either don't go out of style, or won't be replaced by a new model.

So wooden toys for kids (I don't know why people prefer plastic **** sometimes), that they will still enjoy being one year older, and jewelry, scarves, mittens, DVDs that are suddenly half their price (although those mmight just get cheaper), ...

I'm going to try and buy christmas cards and wrapping after new year this year, I'm sure I'll be able to use those next year too.

I think alot of folk do that. Certainly where i work we shift most of the xmas stock after xmas in the sales.

At least you lot get Boxing Day. For America, it's back to the grind and the 26th is one of the biggest shopping days on the calendar. Gotta spend all those gift cards...Gotta take all the crap you dislike back...Gotta force some poor people away from their family and back into a shop working for little to nothing...Woooo! Capitolism! C'mon 3rd world, you know you want it!

Hmmm, sounds better than spending Christmas with your nose in your books, learning how orgies are a form of liberation of the soul. It's extra fun if the days before Christmas, the days after, New year, and entire of January are spent in the same way.

Gotta love studying XD

You study orgies? Does this class have a lab?

To be fair Nate our sales start on 26th as well. Personally I see it as a day of rest, turkey butties and football.

I was led to believe you all had the day off and relaxed. Here almost everyone goes back to work, not just the shops.

No, I studies the Steppenwolf, by Herman Hesse. Apparantly, according to Hesse, Dancing is a way of liberating your soul, and entering into 'All'. And an orgie (or as my profesor would have it: 'Massensex, verstehen sie allen, doch?') is a step (or a few) above dancing.

I was just being prosaic about the fact I have exams in January, and will have to study.

I'm working 7.00pm on the 23rd till 5.00am on the 24th, then 10-7 on boxing day, 7-11 on the thursday and friday. I don't really get much time off over christmas. Though I am off the 29th,30th,1st and 2nd so I can't complain. Good time off for my 18th on the 30th.

No, Matalan. Mostly I work mornings, starting at 6.00am. I start before the shop opnes because I do the deliveries so we work them when the stores not open as it's easier for us. The stupid nightshift thingy is prep for the sale though, and it's the only way I could have got Christmas eve off.

I just researched Matalan to understand where you worked. So, yeah, I'm bored. Seems like our Walmart or Target.

Steppenwolf were also a kick ass psychedelic band I might add.

Three guesses as to where they got the inspiration for their name :p

I think I only know Born to be Wild by them though.

It's not so much that as it is a steaming pile of poop.

Did some minor Christmas shopping during lunch today.
Would it be mean to buy my boyfriend snoopy jammies? I think he'd find them funny, but he'd never wear them. Would be a waste :p
