Is fifa worth getting?

PES used to be better than FIFA, but fifa 08... man!!! If you have a good graphic card and a lot of RAM, it is awesome. Waaaaay better!

graphically i think fifa is a lot more impressive...but the freedom of the gameplay in the pes series is way better than fifa

The only thing i dont like about fifa is that every time theres a new one out there isnt much differance between the old one so is it worth paying for the more or les same game again and again?

I say get UEFA Euro 08...even though I have not played it i heard that it is better than Fifa08. i have my doubts about fifa as it seems a bit slow with input....you want it to do something and WAYYYY later it does it!

never played a soccer game, might have to rent it and check it out. Looks pretty cool though.

Lol..well it can be a bit of a learning curve if it is your first time...but I am sure you will pick it up easy:)

Put is this way guys PES 2008 less graphics= Jonah Lomu gameplay. Fifa 08= EA Rugby 2005 enough said

Is that coming from experience or Pro Evo bias? Because I know for a fact Pro Evo fanboys refuse to believe that perhaps FIFA could actually release a decent game...

Nope played both alot. I am not a fanboy of game companies more a fanboy of amazing gameplay. Really if you read forums gaming magazines they all rate PES as the best football sim of all. I have even read alot of top 10 gaming reviews and Pro Evo is the top sports game always(european sites that is)

Well i am waiting to try out UefaEuro08 as I DO NOT LIKE that much Fifa08,,,,and i am a great fan of Fifa....i just think this version went backwards....it seemed more responsive in previous versions but the newsest one is a bit slow obeying your commands and when it does come out it is a bit too late. Hopefully they have improved this in Euro08.

So in my opinion fifa "08" is not really worth getting. The newer UEFA should hopefully be better and point to where fifa09 is meant to go.

EURO 2008 - is where its at
More responsive than FIFA - smoother, graphically superior
everyone must check it out - its deadset bliss

Do you know if Euro is going to be at video stores? Champions League wasn't last year and I don't want to fork out another $100 for a game that'll be obsolete in a couple of months...without trying it first of course...

Totally agree dude. I have played both extensively now, so I feel I can pass judgement on them. I found FIFA infuriatingly restrictive, especially if you have a football brain. I agree Fifa has the better graphics, but it's in no way intuitive. Rooney is also much fatter in FIFA.

I think both are great for casual gamers, but the harder difficulty setting is where it really sets them apart.

fifa will always be fun like it always has.. but it can get repetitive as soon as you work out you're way to score. i guess pes is similar in some respects but it seems to be more of a challenge and varied against different teams
