Ireland v New Zealand

I've decided we're going to win. Sexton to **** on Carter, Drico to offload out of a SBW tackle setting up a lovely try for Fitzy, Toner to steal half of New Zealand's lineout ball and Rog to try and balls it up in the final 10. Lovely.

This is all true. Sexton is the player Carter could've been, SBW should've stuck to what he knows; rugby league and banging tarts in public toilets, and Toner is very tall and has long arms. I can't see how New Zealand will cope. Ireland by 12

Sounds familiar...

Carter= allowed to make mistakes
Donald= not allowed to make mistakes

:)

Carter is allowed to make mistakes because he makes up for them with brilliance in other areas of his game.
Donald is not allowed to make mistakes because he HAS no other areas of his game!!

Carter is a Stallion, a Thoroughbred.

Donald was a mistake.

I'm picking that the AB's will play pretty much a full strength side, and maybe put Kaino back in with Messam on the bench and Jane in for Toeava, and Nonu/Carter with SBW on the bench

My team:

1. Healy
2. Cronin
3. Ross
4. CULLEN (PLEASE, DEC, PLEASE!!)
5. O'Callaghan
6. Ferris
7. O'Brien
8. Heaslip
9. Stringer
10. Sexton
11. Fitzgerald
12. D'Arcy
13. O'Driscoll
14. Bowe
15. Kearney

10 Leinster players. That's right!

I'd have the same but with Wally at 7 and either of Ferris SOB or Leamy at 6.

Never gonna happen in a kazillion years though.

King DArcy. Sean O Brien blew his chance last week. People can slag ROG off but his tackling this season has been good and I find it hard to believe that all Sextons mistakes are blamed on a poor 9 or poor pack. Like before SA game Leinster fans were sayin Reddan has to start even if TOL fit. Kearney is gone to the dogs again and been utter crap. But I'd hope most Munster lads aren't playing as there big games for the red of Munster coming up and well it seems they're more appreciated by the Thomond Park faithful. Darbutter you're right too if Sexton got that quick tap it'd be all praise but any way Munster to do job tonight :)

Against England the main thing england beat NZ in was the scrum.

It was poor officiating. The All Blacks had no problem holding their own ball against England, the scrumming issues came about on England's feeds.

Carter = doesn't make many mistakes so we forgive the odd one he does make
Donald = cocks up time and time again so we have no patience for seeing him do it

Sean O'Brien had as bad a game as the rest of the pack. Will we leave the whole starting pack out? SOB is clearly our best option at 7 going into the world cup, the sooner we get him used to that position at international standard the better. Playing Wallace would kind of be a waste...

I agree that ROG has played better than Sexton but, again, going into the world cup Sexton will probably be our best option. We know what Sexton can do, let's give him a chance to do it against the ABs. We're gonna lose anyway...

Yeah the one thing about that team I mite have changed is Fitz to fullback with Earls on the wing...

England and New Zealand were reffed by the same official and he reffed the scrum the same for both teams. If you had read my last post propally what would have seen I have stated New Zealand have an international class scrum but stats show that against teams like SA and England they do not have the upper hand in this area. What other part of the game is their weakest point? The lineout? their passing? Their defence? I don't think so.

How DARE you insinuate the All Blacks have a weakest point!

Agreed whole pack except probably Leamy and Ferris were disappointing but Sean O Brien had to show that he deserved his place as opposed to Heaslip for example who is settled in squad.
On the 10 situation I agree Sexton should start but just stating Irish people don't realize how vital ROG is to us.
As for Earls situation I agree with you but won't start on it as his treatment has been a disgrace and well I wouldn't be surprised to see Earls been left out of 22.

New Zealand vs Italy was refereed by Stewart Dickenson last year, and clearly one referee can get scrums wrong and rule in favour of the home team. It doesn't make sence to say other wise. As for NZ vs SA, our scrum was largely dominant in two games, with the third test South Africa looking to have the upper hand, thanks to a very good effort from SA player of the year Guthro Steenkamp. I think it's important to remember how the scrums were reffereed, because they have a tendancy to reflect poorly on players. The match verse England and Australia, the scrum call was appalling with a four second wait before teams could get the hit on, and during Scotland, I counted a 5 second gap, which luckily the All Blacks adapted to and looked fairly dominant. There referees were lousy at looking at the binding of players as well, as there were occassions on both sides, where against England, Woodcock was impeded in getting his bind on, because of the high binding of the very talented Dan Cole. I personally think New Zealand has the top three best scrums in the world, with France and England ahead of us, and Wales not far behind, but it'd be interesting to see the scrums officiated the same up in the Aviva Premiership as it is in the S14.

SOB is a really good player. But.

He's been playing 6 all year, and didn't impress at 7 against Samoa. So for that reason i would have Wallace (and if he were playing well Jennings) ahead of him.

He definatly has an international future, but most likely at 7. He needs to be played in that position by Leinster on a regular basis to develop in a 7.
