Ireland v New Zealand

Well I must say now that this is over we did better than I thought but still poor.
New Zealand won almost every restart from both teams.
Not been biased because they're Munster but Stringer and Earls have to be starting and Leamy is a possible contender for 7 too.
But well regardless of Argentina it was a poor Autumn series.
Also there no doubt now Dan Carter is by a country mile the best player in the world. Even better than how he was in lions series in 05

Hedging your bets cardassian?
lol nah just like games where both teams play well.

On that note good game Ireland, Can't believe you didn't beat South Africa when you can play like that.
Scoreline not a fair representation of the game imo.

Definitely positives to be taken from the game... I'll talk about them later.... When I'm not so upset :(

Ouch, try at the death for Read, kick in the ribs for Ireland after an encouraging last 15minutes

D'arcy had one of the better matches i've seen him play recently

ABs 38 IRE 18.

Ireland played well particularly in the 1st half and just fell off in the 2nd half but nothing between the 2 teams in the 1st half, I thought they were even to be honest. Good games from Read, Kaino, Gear, Jane.

Ahhh thats right you're not a big fan of DC. Well fair enough you're one doubter I know.

I thought DC had a better game than Sexton, I dont remember Sexton running it up much. Sexton did keep his team in the game and he did run things well. I dont know if it was his decision to send the ball out to BOD off the scrum just so that BOD could kick it out on a full (in the 1st half in their own half).

I think it was little knock-on by Heaslip before O'Driscoll picked up the ball... And why Sexton is kicking? I remember a couple years ago Kearny kicked conversion against Italy when O'Garas was in sin bin.

Definately no knock on.
Legit try and mad skills by O'Driscoll.

Great game, Ireland took the game to NZ, but then NZ seemed to be cruising at times without the need to change gears.

That Ireland team played just about as well as they could have. Unfortunately it would have been far better had the coach picked the right team. Both Healy and Wallace were well off the pace and should be dropped. Cronin is just as poor in the lineout as Best but at least he carries the ball. D'arcy deserved a good kicking for attempting a drop goal when there was acres of space outside him. Heaslip played well but also deserved a kicking for not passing to Keith Earls early on during his long break. Eoin Reddan is the third player to deserve a kicking for trying to chip Mils Muliaina when he had Tommy Bowe haring up on his outside. Cut out those stupid errors and Ireland were in the game.

As it was, NZ fully deserved their win.

I just have to say; what a game! O'Driscoll's talking about 80 minute performances here and that's exactly what stopped Ireland from really competing today. You can't sit back against the All Blacks for any amount of time and Ireland gave them 20 minutes to run a muck in the middle of the match. Very disappointing. But if you look at some of those moments when Ireland really attacked it was magic. Ireland could've beaten any other team in the world today.

Always a fan of Carter but at times in past I questioned status as best player on planet but now there is no dispute.
I just disappointed he didn't break Wilkinsons record today.

Ireland though now have to be brave and make the changes that have to be made

I think D'arcy thought they were still playing advantage with that DG, but it'd finished just before

If I were to pick a team vs Argentina.
1. Healy
2. Varley (Has to be given a shot as his lineouts are brilliant)
3. Court
4. O'Callaghan
5. Micko/Toner (Both did well)
6. Ferris
7. Leamy (I think he deserves a shot as he is on form)
8. Heaslip
9. Stringer
10. Sexton
11. Earls (Sense has to break in and give us his attributes)
12. D'Arcy (Deserves another go after today)
13. BOD
14. Bowe
15 Fitzgearld (IF FIT) (Kearney has to go please, again he was poor today)

16. Cronin
17. Ross (Lads John Hayes physically won't be able for World Cup)
18. Toner/Micko or maybe Nagle :p
19. O'Brien
20. Boss
21. ROG
22. J. Murphy (Kearney needs to be tested to work his way back in)

Oh ok, for a fan you sure question him a lot.

Oh that - I said would he be able to still work his magic in Europe in different circumstances and stick by that.
If it was lashing rain in a soggy pitch and he playing behing a pack that isn't as dominant as All Blacks, but on that I would say now if he can't nobody can't.

Fair point brother.

But on tonight, Carter was exceptional and well his kicking from hand and grass was just worth the admission price alone.
