Ireland v England

I think the guy is out of line commenting publically about the ref, it should be behind closed doors and with dignity, this isn't football; honestly Kaplan didn't have that bad a game. What if England had beaten Wales? Would we have so much drama about it then?[/b]

I definitely think it was out of line from Brian Smith. If he and England think that Wales were so successful in getting their point across behind the scenes, why aren't they doing it also?

Maybe they are. Maybe there are attacking on two fronts, or the public front is just ......... a .............. a ................ a front!

Aarrrrggghhhhh were dooooooomed!

well going into the match in 2005 we were heavy favourites and just about got the job done, same story the following year at Twickenham and then we finally put them to the sword in 2007, so we've proved we can win these matches when heavily favoured.

Regards this match the players seem to have realistic expectations, that has Kidney written all over it, especially the talk from the likes of Heaslip and Kearney about putting things right after last years defeat. That and O'Driscoll's comments today were interesting, when asked about what it's like to play with Johnson, he said, knowledge is knowing that a tomatoe is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad, insightful stuff from the Ireland captain.

Never been the same since Tana dropped him on his head, poor child.

that had to be a bet that he lost where he'd have to use that as the answer to the first question he got, if that's the case you can't question the spirit of the side, which certainly has visibly improved since Kidney came in.

Couldn't agree more - a weight seems to be lifted off their shoulders since Kidney arrived - could be the missing ingredient we've been looking for all these years.

Tom on RTE asked my question about what english players would get into the irish team

Brent said one... Phil Vick

well things couldn't have gone better from an Irish point of view in Paris this evening, so can we take advantage tomorrow?

Yes, I think it'll be a close game but a breakaway try or two for Ireland wull be the difference. And England seem to have no dependable kicker.

Holy Christ this thread is huge. If it can live up to the standard's of tonights game then Tarbh will be in a hospital ward Sunday morning...

yeah I'll be taking the alcoholic approach for tomorrow's game, that should calm me down, should being the operative word!

yes.. pub time.. it means you're less depressed if the team loose.. and you're more overly joyous if they win!:D

and in another thread O'Driscoll's fruit metaphor was laughed at..

but read it again..it's a hit at Johnson

alright the subtle nuance is lost on me, or maybe it's as clear as day, either way I don't get it.

I agree, I think he was saying he was a great player, but he shouldn't have been put in as manager. And he called him a fruit.

Tarbh posts from an insane asylum somewhere on the outskirts of Paris. So he's already there.
