Ireland v England - 19 August 2023

Just been having this conversation. What is it? Players over the hill/ out of form, or the coaches e.g. wrong game plan or players failure to execute?
They're too coddled. I know it's a cliche in professional sport these days, but it bloody looks it atm. It's like there's no response to poor performances and poor effort.

Get them out doing hard graft and digging deep instead of going home to Pennyhill park for spa treatments - we got absolutely battered by Northampton in the league a bit ago, with a week off scheduled after. The club cancelled the team social/holiday they'd got booked and got the players out running the sand dunes in Blackpool for a week instead and turned our form around with it

There's something rotten in the England camp, it needs a full overhaul. Bringing in EJ's protégé to replace EJ wasn't the shake up they thought it would be

Confusing gameplan for last 3 years.

Too much structure and systems, meaning too much thinking needed.

They are so confused that timing is out and it doesn't flow.

I don't think you can bring players in due to disciplinary issues. In which case at this point SB won't have selections to make bell over have 15 left.

Should Lowe and Aki go off for HIAs?

Edit - looks like they are now

Is that the rule? I dodnt know that?

By that logic if Faz red card appeall is upheld then we go with 31 players?
Well only if his ban covers the whole World Cup and means even if England make the final he can't play. Otherwise he will travel but can't be involved until it expires.

Depends if they've officially submitted it, rather than just naming it as the current EPS squad.
The RWC deadline is September 1st (I think?), I think clubs would be mad to submit the paperwork early even if they have "officially" named their squads

Edit: As above

The fact that he was shaking his head at the decision shows that he's a brainless muppet.
Borthwick and him have apparently had a frosty relationship in the past. Lord knows why Borthwick has went out of his way to mend things with him. You could understand it if he was a superstar or even semi useful to your team (see Townsend with Russel) but Binny is a washed up, grumpy has-been.

Yet we've sacrificed Mercer for him.

Not certain about the hotel bit, but too many players are not being challenged.

McCall would have dropped Billy and Itoje many games ago.
