Ireland v England, 10/02/13

Guilty as charged. For some reason we like to watch games with creativity, skill and strategy. Our players run INTO space and use more than 10 men on the field. I guess that's why us in the SH keep losing to the NH guys...Oh wait.

WORLD CHAMPIONS *****ES!!

Pretty sure everyone would have rather seen some exciting tries.

Haha - yeah. like to say I'd do it again, but to be honest I could do with the sleep.

Perhaps they all had a touch of the Noro Virus.....

Another beautiful, gorgeous piece of rugby, full of that wonderful magic Ireland England matches always have, full to burst with tries and artistically crafted attacks...just as pretty to watch than the France Wales match.

So is this it ? England (no offense to fans) is going to win the tournament because they're cold-blooded (commit less fouls, mistakes etc...) and have strong forwards ?....
There isn't a *FUKK* to possibly challenge England. Maybe France finally wake up and manage a big upset once again in Twickenham...but if not. What, Wales ? The way they played the first two games ?!
Italy, that just got crushed in Murrayfield ?! :p

I'm not down-sizing England's quality, but they're not great either...so far this tournament, we've seen just about every single 6 nation defend superbly. But in attack ? What, France has shown a flash or two against Italy and then SUCKED. Ireland looked very good against Wales, but then what, they looked like France this match on attack; with huge props to Kearney, on a side note...Orquera and Italy spent one day in Heaven before a hard, hard crash on Planet Earth.

This weekend SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUCKED so miserably. A part from one okay try (Sco Ita), we only got intercept-tries (as usual) from Scotland.

P.S.: nice scrum Ireland this time...

Good games from most of the squad, but there's no place for Tom Youngs or Haskell IMO if England want to continue to develop into serious contenders.

Even Ben Youngs had a better match then I've seen from him maybe since the Australia away game 3 years ago.

Well yeah, but those conditions looked nasty. Granted, more adventurous sides might have gone for it... would they have won? Think I'd rather watch smart rugby played effectively than madness from people trying things they don't have the skills for.

But the amount of stuff in the game that was either pointless or poorly executed was amazing. The box kicks to no one - the one off runners which got isolated. The lack of any kind of back play. I'm not talking about everyone doing SBW offloads and behind the back passes - all I'm suggesting is running into space rather than into the opposition forwards, kicking with purpose rather than just giving the opposition back three ages with the ball - or for that matter not even bothering to chase the kicks.

The game was like watching a guy walk over and over into a door that says pull.

Have to say I mostly agree with you.....as one of Ben Youngs severest critics, he had a good game in poor conditions but still wonder about that step he takes.....Haskell is keeping Morgans place warm and think he has to be there if only to keep the Tank off the field. Tom Youngs is OK when there is little pressure but certainly crumbled when it came on........Farrell, Barritt are now first names on the team list but do hope England can find some wingers so Brown can take 15 until Foden proves his form and get Goode back to Saracens. Thought and stats prove Irish scrum won the battle but it was more Marler than Cole that was the weak spot.

Oh right, that. Kind of at the point where I take ho-hum kicking and isolated crash runners as de rigueur, but yeah, you're right, shouldn't be. Although we have a good excuse in that we didn't have much ball, and they had a good excuse in that they're being coached by Declan Kidney.

I feel sorry for the neutrals, but as an England fan it took off a fair few years of my life.

Hartley, I think, will have earned his place back and Ben Youngs had a good game; I still remember his sin-binning last time England went to Dublin in the Six Nations. I thought the bench edged it for England, with the impact of Hartley, Lawes, and Vunipola all allowing England to stretch the lead back out to six points, with Ireland losing any impact because of early injuries. Lancaster timed them well, as well, and didn't just bring people on for caps which I believe he's been guilty of in the past.

Now I just hope France don't start playing people in their club position by the time they get to Twickenham...

To be fair, France are the team that have shown the least amount of flair in attack of any team so far. I think it's a little rich to be saying that France are the only team that have a chance to stop an English grand slam considering they have scored the least amount of points, the least amount of tries (Wales have scored equal amount to England, Scotland the most) and have lost both of their first games.

Not to say that they wont! But consider what you're saying in the context of sense.

Happy with the win, especially considering conditions, the location and the sin bin.
Healy is a c**t. Should've been binned twice in the first half.

Edit: Also got to love POM getting smashed by Farrell repeatedly in attack and defence - you wouldn't think he was the big hard munster backrow, and Farrell was the flyhalf barely out of nappies.

Watched this in an Irish bar and they were not impressed!

The First Law of French Rugby states that no period of form may be maintained for more than one or two games at a time, and that all bad form must be followed by good form in inverse proportion, and vice versa.

Taking this law into account, the French are lining up to absolutely savage the living daylights out of someone. Just won't be us.

edit: I hope.

Be fair......he is talking about the French team and I for one firmly believe that they can turn the disasterous performances of the last two weeks into a world class performance the week after next IF PSA becomes a normal person and selects people on form in their rightful positions..................

You mix up rugby for the purist against the sling the ball around that the SH have to have to satisfy their need for a game that is a mox of basketball/rugby league for their low boredom thresholds!!
Yep. I love our style of rugby up here compared to the type of rugby that has won 6 out of 7 World Cups.

RTE's panel is priceless. Ireland lost because Mike Ross was subbed in the 79th minute and Craig Gilroy is a bad kicker. Not a word about Ronan O'Gara's tour de force.

In all those high scoring and free flowing WC finals you mean? Oh, hold on....

Good one...and by the way it is really only 5 SH wins out of 6 as the first RWC in 1987 does not really count as it was on a level of the annual ex International **** up in Bermuda with Blanco et al havng fags on the sidelines before and after the game!!

Serious?

Just in from the pub, even the usual Radge defenders (with one or two exceptions who either don't understand the game or need glasses) are admitting he was complete pish. A centre partnership of Fofana and Conrad Smith (or whoever else you feel is the world's best) could do nothing with the pish he served GD'A and BOD.

Assuming Sexton has properly pulled the hamstring - I think the only real option is Keatley in. With either Jackson or Madigan on the bench.

Radge can be told to **** off and retire. He's not even the 2nd best 10 in Munster right now.

[Well done England, better team won, completely deserved... You bunch of ********.<_<]
