How confident are you about your country in the World Cup?

I do not even see England advancing to the Quarter-Finals. I am being honest, I think England will finish behind Australia and Wales in 3rd place of the pool.

You think Wales and Australia will beat full strength England? At home?

I could see maybe one of them doing it, but i've got zero doubt we'll make it out of the group.

i was waiting for him to reply so i could roll out some other bigoted STEREOTYPES!!!!
In that instance you just suppose to repeat what you already said just with further generalisation on the same point whilst not actually replying to what was said in return. Have you learnt nothing?

Which are DEFINITELY based on reality and not in any way to product of bitterness or some other negative emotion!

I guess after this little War of the Roses thing, we can add sarcastic to the arrogant English tag.

That ones totally true I've never met a non sarcastic Englishman.

England is a different monster at World Cups.

take the 2007 World Cup for instance. They got smashed by the Bokke in their first game out, but then went all the way to the finals, and then even put up a brave effort.

I also think England will make it out of their group, and they might even top their group. In fact, I think Australia will finish third in their group.

Are we a different monster? I'm not so sure. 2007 we achieved well above ourselves, but 2011 we were appalling, 2003 we were one of two favourites and won. Aside from 07, I don't really think we've notably overachieved in a professional-era World Cup.

Edit: saying that, I do think we'll get out the group, probably as winners

I think we achieve about what to expect from us in 2007. The biggest problem with that side is they were chronic underachievers so when they played to their potential it was a shock. 2011 was underachieving as well. In fact England are pretty much the definition of underachievement since 2003...

Man you guys really know how to get pumped up for your team! So much positivity. And this time it's in your own back yard, at Fortress Twickers with a crap load of supporters in the stands... Come on, Back yourselves.

Either we're too pessimistic/negative or we're arrogant. Can't win.

I hapilly back us to the semi final (considering i have us winning the group) and think we'll make the final...winning the whole thing is pushing it however. I'm also not going to pretend that prediction is easy...that would be arrogant as opposed to confident.

Well I was just being polite, but since you're pushing it, we are going to destroy every poor former colony in our path on the way to a magnificent victory causing the whole world to proclaim our brilliance in hushed tones and hand us back our empire as a gesture of submission to our dominance. It's going to be like Agincourt, Waitangi, the prison ships, the potato famine, William Wallace's execution, the Boer War, the miners' strike and the Falklands all rolled into one.

Wales to finish top and Aussie 2nd in the group of 'death'. English media will implode and a black hole will be formed in the middle of England.

Lol very subtle trolling...

Very strong chance of winning it for me. :)

Were one of 4 who realistically can and probably a top 2 favourite. I think we'll find the group quite easy actually which will shock a few.

Itoje to make a massive impact at 6.
