HES announces Rugby League Live for PS3/360

I'm sure I remember mario saying there were only a couple of ideal release windows for rugby league games either around march when the seasons starts with the second option being in september just before it finishes and also over the southern hemisphere summer/holiday months december-january . you also have to remember since this is officially licensed the NRL plus sponsors have to sign off on everything in the game and I also remember mario saying this can only happen at certain times in the year.

Yes, I believe the optimal times to release an RL ***le would are March and September, though Christmas is has also been traditionally strong for RL sports ***le. Certainly we see spikes of sales for the franchise during those general periods.

However, given the delivery times on player/uniform/logo reference plus integration time to get into the game plus testing plus signoff from NRL etc plus submission and signoff from the console manufacturer, it is incredibly challenging to launch an RL ***le that is "up to date" towards the beginning or even the middle of the season.

well don't know if anyones still got faith in this game, but apparently HES are releasing some new info some time soon (end of week/start of next). Kinda weird that us brits aint had a release date yet :( : ( HES really aint doing any promo bout this, shows how much confidence they have in their product i guess :S

I'm just happy there's finally a Rugby League game released on a platform I own, I haven't played any since RL1 on the original X-Box (I'm not counting the PSP game). I did play the balls off RL1 in the day though............

Well, to be fair, HES never really did much promotion of past Rugby League ***les. Much of the promotion and information dissemination was taken on by us voluntarily - Sidhe were even the ones drafting and distributing the press releases, hosting the websites etc. So, they aren't really doing anything less than what they were doing before.

I'm not sure what, if any, restrictions they have put on Big Ant around releasing media and information.

Wasn't dissing HES (the last bit was just tongue in cheek). I',m looking forward to it, just a bit disappointed that its a "month" till release and yet no actual gameplay footage :( :( hopefully thats whats being released this week :D :D :D

wow i am excited - a side cam that works by the look of it!!!!

good enough for me - roll away and play the ball!!!

Not bad!
I bet that passing system takes a bit to get used to though (different buttons for different players)

Waaaayyy better than I expected, I never expected to see shoulder charges let alone a whole arsenal of brutal tackles. And we haven't seen the kicking game yet or the step, fend and whatever else they have kept up their sleeves.

Colour me impressed....

...still have to actually play it yet but I think I'll be playing the crap out of it.

oooofff actually looks really smooth in action. I guess this could be a nice little game when it comes out, can't wait to see steps and fends and stuff (they showed more of defence than offence - maybe thats what they focused on meaning no sidesteps etc). Still looks great and probably gonna take my hard earned cash away from me :( :( (which is a good thing by the looks of things). still no release date in the UK tho: gone in to game and gamestation and they dont know it exists- keep on saying "ea sports are bringing one out next year" and being the nerd/poster on TRF i know that Its not EA :p hahaha ah well import jobby it is then :D

Interesting one.

I still think this game has a UK release date, Game etc have not picked it up yet probably because they have not been informed of it so. Id expect them to know something over the weekend.

I've heard from a very reliable source at A.S that it will be released in the uk at the end of October.

It's got something to do with the pound being weak against the Aussie dollar or something.

Definitely an import job for me then, i need my fix of rugby on next gen when i go back to uni :p and i thought i recognised that song in the background hahaha good old rugby 06 :D :D
will definitely be playing as the crusaders in september, no way am i waiting till october.

I'm going to wait till it's out here, i reckon.
While it'd be nice to get it earlier and it'd take the sting off of the last two weeks of work before Uni starts up again, i can't justify the £20-25 extra (plus whatever shipping will be) to get it earlier
