HES announces Rugby League Live for PS3/360

Will it really be that much cheaper on there though? I presume it'll just be shops selling it within the first few weeks of release (most people who buy it and don't want it will just return it?),
If RRP is £65, it's not going to be that much cheaper on there
Just guesswork though, never bought anything from down under before

I dunno, I'd still like to try a demo, but I might risk it. Depends if NBA 2K11 consumes me too much.

I'm about to have a heart attack......!! That is way beyond my expectations that I had for this game. I am truly at a loss....!

From a decent sauce, it will be in the UK some 6 weeks after the release of 2nd September.

Why? Simply because they want to make as much money as its possible. If they released in the UK then it would be cheaper for the the lads down under to order it from here and get it shipped over because of how weak the pound is to the AUS Dollar.

Gotta say, much more impressed now that I've seen the video. Methinks a PS3 is now a certainty. Love the shoulder charges!

annoying about the whole delayed UK date. went into game in swansea today and they didn't even know it was coming out at all, i actually think i'm gonna import it for my ps3, its gonna be more expensive but i need my next gen fix ready for uni :D :D Only rushing on Backbreaker/Madden 11 just isn't the same as rugby :D :D

This was an email recieved by broncos85 over on the Sidhe forums, it highlights a few more features of the game.

Thanks for the Email.

Im not sure if you have been notified yet but i will anyway.

We were lucky enough to have played the game and are very excited for the
release. All the staff here got into it quiet easily and within minutes were
sledging in the competition.

Unfortunantly there is no franchise mode however the online features is a
better substitute.

Below are a few of the new features we were excited with.

1. Live online play with up to 4 player support

2. Future online updates to change player rosters and potential
content in 2011 (stadiums etc)

3. NRL Field markings change depending on Friday/Saturday/Sunday or
Monday games (system clock)

4. Sideline camera is much improved and a great way to play. (top to
bottom, not left to right)

5. Impact Tackles and close ups of the BIG HITS!

6. Field and Jersey Degredation. (play in the rain and jersey will get
muddy etc)

7. NRL All-Stars Team (Locked on Ps3, OPEN on Xbox)

8. Indigenous All-Stars Team

9. MCG stadium (Locked on Xbox, Open on Ps3)

10. Drag Tackles over the sideline. cool!

11. Cut out passes to take advantage of overlaps by pressing circle or
triangle or X. (need to watch the video for this one)

View the trailer on our website and you will understand more about the
features.

Well they did say defense was a priority this time and to have great tackles and Shoulder Charges which I never would have expected is a plus for me.

When that Gamesmen person mentioned drag tackles over the sideline it got me thinking of whether this may mean there is momentum in tackles or a simple animation specifically for near the sidelines.

Either way it may still be fairly basic to play but I think it is going to be a decent first crack at it by Bigant.

the trailer does seem better than i had initially thought..

the passing looks diabolical though. i like the three options with the face buttons but the actual execution looks really unresponsive. could be a game breaker for mine.

For a new code/game, this looks remarkably similar to RL2 - with some big hits added in and a bit more fluidity.

5 Years later though, I personally won't judge until I play it but the vid didn't excite me much

Graphics aren't the make or break for me, gameplay is.

It is not a port, it was built from scratch.

Passing physics look a bit 'floaty' for my liking... and I agree that it looks remarkably similar for a game built from the ground up.

RL2 actually had a great 'system' for cutout passes which I would love to see in rugby games moving forwards, so I really hope that this ***le provides a solid gameplay foundation - graphics etc can come in later iterations.

As long as the players are more manouevable, and passing is quick – I'll be happy

Online will be epic, and I already know side cam has been fixed
<O:p
I am a side cam fanboi – it looks unreal to me (sidecam not the graphics)

Looks quite cool, although all the focus is on defence in the trailer. I just hope there are fends, sidesteps dummies etc for attackers :D
definitely importing this, went into another Game today and they weren't even aware that Rugby League 3 was out yet on Wii. So SCREW waiting for UK release, i'm gonna import and hope (which i doubt it will be) it'll be worth 20 quid extra. :p
