Hendre Fourie joins Sharks

Sale Sharks today announced the signing of England International Hendre Fourie from Leeds Carnegie on a two year deal. He will join for an undisclosed fee from Sale to Leeds.

Would've preferred a fullback or flyhalf, but in the grand scheme of things I'm fairly happy - cracking player, even if we do have more backrowers than the rest of the aviva put together

He said before Leeds dropped he was committed to staying with them, and loved living where he does - don't know what changed (maybe Leeds said they'd rather if he moved on because they can't afford to keep him) so he went to Sale as he doesn't have to move house

London Irish wanted him to replace Armitage but they annoyed Leeds by trying to sign him whilst Leeds were still in a close fight with Newcastle to go down

The Exiles also wanted Lipman but I'm not sure what happened to that, anyway London Irish NEED a flanker desperately now

Agreed, I think Toby Booth thought Fourie was a done deal, so released Armitage (I read an interview that said that they would only allow Armitage to leave after they'd secured a replacement) - now he's not gone there they must be pooing their pants

you have some big boots to fill at flyhalf! saints put 50points on sale at the gardens but hodgson was still class.
i said at the time sale will struggle bigtime without charlie.

With Williams gone at fullback we're missing a class act at 10 and 15, but I think we'll only sign one player now, so it's a matter of choosing which to get

Nick McLeod can do a job at either, as can Miller - Not seen enough of Lavea to say whether he's a good 10, but I've heard people say he's not great

Whoever comes into either position will have some big boots to fill, as you said

There are rumours that Diamond is courting Henson to join as a flyhalf, but I can't see it - apparently Charlie Hodgsons wife said something about Henson joining on twitter, but I reckon it's all speculation and rumours - we'll end up with some obscure squad player 15 from a lower Top 14 side
