Heineken Cup 2022/23: Quarter Finals

Well this is going better than expected...

almost makes up for the bt sport app on my tv not working! Watching pn phone on the sofa

How many errors by the Stormers so far?

Night and day compared to last week vs. Quins.

How much are they are missing Fourie?

Fourie is a massive loss, but this isn't that. Just completely error ridden and not able to put anything together. A lot is just unforced errors. They've not pitched up here yet.

Are we going to find that the South African sides are going to struggle in the Champions Cup from the last 8 onwards?

Pretty sure I read they will play no home matches from the quarters onwards.

The travel must be pretty tough.
I think so. Travel factor for one thing but we also don't have a side on the same tier as Leinster and a few of the bigger French sides. Consistency is important here.

Double the turnovers and almost double the tackles than chiefs but 3 - 16 on missed tackles.

The stats make as grim reading as the scoreline for Stormers.

They won twice the turnovers of Chiefs yet Chuefs pressure didnt let them into the game.

This half we need to not think the game is won.

Exeter getting caught out numerous times now, looks like a very real possibility they could throw this away unless they get a grip.

Great win for Chiefs with a very good performance, physical and accurate. Not mistake free but didnt let up and when they got their tries we responded.

Deserved win. On to the Semi's

Congratulations to Exeter. I just hope we can put this loss behind us and pick it up again. That was the flattest performance from us I've seen in some number of years and I don't think we can put it down to a bit of an awkward pack.

Can't complain, well played Exeter. Stormers are a team that still need to learn how to win away from South Africa. They had some complications this week, but that's no excuse for not pitching up for 45 minutes.

Hopefully it's some good learning experience for a couple of players, and I am happy with how some of the players started performing in the second half. Just think we are missing the depth and squad players to be able to be competitive in two tournaments. Still quarter finals in the first season - can't complain.
