Heineken Cup 2013/14 Pool 5, Round 5 (Ulster v Montpellier, Treviso v Tigers)

I think both teams will get through anyway won't they ? It's just the home 1/4 that they are playing for really
Yeah it seems like both are through but a trip to Toulon or Clermont is far from what either team will want

That's true but if for arguments sake the QF teams are :

Leicester
Leinster
Clermont
Toulouse
Toulon
Ulster
Munster
Saracens

Then there isn't any easy games anyway lol

Yes but some teams are unplayable at home and well with it being so soon after 6 Nations any advantage and momentum you can get would be massive.

For example should Ulster loose next week how horrible must it be that despite winning first 5 games that they only squeeze in as a runner up and have to go to France.

Should Leicester loose how must it feel that they couldn't beat the only other team that were realistically a contender for pool home or away. And also that they couldn't win a game that matters in their own backyard.

Very scrappy game so far, 3-0 to Mont. Must say I'm a bit worried right now.. long time to go though.

Montpellier's line speed is seriously quick..

EDIT: Sensational cross field kick by PJ and unreal catch and strength to power over the line by Diack. Pienaar converts from touchline, 7-3.

EDIT 2: PEINAAR YOU BEAUTY. 2nd try in 2 minutes what a turn around.

that was very much a 2nd string Montpellier sent, 2 players playing only their 2nd game of the season! Ulster top their pool

So Ulster now officially guaranteed a runner up quarter final place, and if they win next week they are also guaranteed a home quarter final.

All to play for now..

So by my reckoning, the loser of round six has to go to France in the QF whereas the winner gets to host Sarries. All to play for...

The way sarries pumped us at welford road a few weeks back makes me wonder if I'd prefer to play Toulouse lol

Amen to that! still getting the shakes after that crushing Sarries gave us, would rather play Clermont in France.

For what it worth if Ulster win they'll probably get Sarries or Tigers
If Tigers win it looks possibly like welcoming Munster/Leinster

Looser will be going to Toulon I'd say

Bowe injured for the weekends game with Leicester by the looks

I know it sounds good but being honest he's gone off the boil a bit and the back 3 of Payne Trimble and Gilroy are all on fire and capable of doing super stuff and if fit I'd only have him on bench regardless

Problem is Gilroy might be out too - they think he may have broken his nose which shouldn't keep him out but he had some concussion too. Hope he's fit, but I really rate Allen and wouldn't be disappointed to see him star

Agreed Allen is a good player but it is a bit in at deep end. Still regardless I think it'll be a battle up front that decides result
