HB STUDIOS Q&A vol. 3

I didn't ask what the reference was, i just wondered why you were bringing up completely unrelated chat in a thread about 2012

Also, you're correct, I'm not Louie Knight.

Obviously not unrelated though is it, now you've had it explained to you. Or do you need further help?

For the love of God, you're obnoxious.
Laters on the menjay.

A student calling someone else obnoxious....priceless. Yet another example of why the number of university places should be slashed and only the intelligent allowed to be further educated at the tax payers expense. Get a job!

Someone playing upon a stereotype ...priceless ..It just shows your own level of intelligence to be lashing out at something that effects so many people ....As most people do I am sure he is University in order to get the qualifications for the job he wants ...

Why are you here ? because your not so much talking remotely about rugby as making yourself look like an utter tool ...

I get the impression you don't have one either....

Aux contrare, i fear i am the only one on here that does. When i signed up to be able to post on here, all i wanted to do was try to nudge HB into making Rugby 2012 a really good game. Unfortunately, i seemed to have inadvertently stumbled upon the Aberystwyth University Retards Society. I therefore bid you all adieux. Good luck with your studies, i hope for everyone's sake they're worthwhile and not just 3 years of everyone's money washed down the drain as per usual.

Military men are funded by the government are they not? How big a waste is war ? Far greater a waste than having an educated society ...full respect to servicemen as it was the family trade in both France and Ireland for over 100 years , But war is a waste of both money and life .

Bye

No apparently a military man ...

With an attitude like that is he Captain Blackadder?

Keith Quinn FTW Please get Keith, he is the Bill McLaren of the Southern Hemisphere....

YEASSSSSSS He is the best and he is still alive get him recording the commentator part

I suggest you **** off back to the Sidhe forum then and stop spamming your bullshit over here then.

HAHAHAHAHAHA thats funny I really think Rugby 2012 will be way better than sidhe they just all talk at the moment so they can get a lot of customers to buy their rugby challenge so they spend a lot of time advertising it but it will look just like the league game... look at their previous games i really dont trust them

All I can say is as long as the gameplay and overall graphics are overall improved I won't mind too much that there isn't a manager mode (Although I was surprised) I just want a good rugby game where I won't get bored after 20mins doing the same thing on 08. Please make it harder!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONFIRM WHETHER THE GAME WILL BE ON WII OR NOT Thankyou

Get a ps3 please

Ok please stop fighting everyone....... can we just makesure you get samoa tonga and fijis hakas or war dance in there please as well as nz.. and for the theme song can you use world in union instead of the rock musics that we had on rugby 06 and 08...makesure the english swing low song by the crowds when the english play.. for online can we have a tournament that can be set out for you and your friends and can you make it like if your game finishes while your other friends still playing, can we spectate the final minutes of the other games played by friends in the same tournament. because it will depends on how many penalties which can slow the game down... just thought it will be cool in the game.. and if you have a bye like if theres uneven numbers of teams in the tournament you can choose which your friends matches you can watch or spectate. Thank you for reading HB

I would agree. this game needs a manager mode or sumthing. If not, I would like all the competitions that are out there at the moment such as the premiership, heineken cup, amlin challenge cup, lv cup, magners, six nations, tri nations and in particularly the rugby world cup 2011. If we have all these faclities and have a manager mode, I will definately buy this game!!!

Nothing is written in stone. They worked on the game for only a few months, everything is pretty basic now and they can only release information that is available to them also. Developing a video game involves a lot of factors, and promising things that you can't make sure you deliver never pays off. All we need now is a little patience, the studio doesn't even have a publisher for this game...

happy holidays for all. see you next year.

More drama in this topic than Gavin Henson returning to rugby.

Ladies and Gentleman,

The split between the two camps in this thread is obvious. There are those that wish for a great many things from this game (e.g. Be A Pro, Career mode, etc.) and those who wish for everyone to be happy with a mediocre/lacklustre minor improvement over previous EA Rugby Games (2008 and so on). Perhaps the hopes and requests of the first camp are something to intially baulk at, in terms of time, effort and money that may have to be spent above that of mediocre development. However, what you should all appreciate is that if you set goals low, you get poor products (this is symptomatic of British industry i might add). HB in this case, but all businesses, governments, and dare i say it 'students' (ych a fy!) need to be pushed to produce more than they set out to at all times. Therefore people who are posting on this thread asking HB to include more than just a basic rugby tournament in this game have every right to do so, and are in fact in the right. The detractors who wish for the status quo will achieve little. Stop the One-Eyed Views and Thought processes please....this is not Llanelli....or even Aberystwyth for that matter!

Very quaint Sange79. I agree that people certainly are within their rights to demand more of HB and any company producing a rugby ***le, but it doesn't necessarily follow that these wishes will be fulfilled. How does the old saying go? "People in hell would likely like ice water, but that doesn't mean they're going to get it".

I actually think you're wrong in the way you frame this as well. I think that everyone wants the best game possible, but that the latter camp you cite aren't so much encouraging mediocrity as expressing frustration with the lack of pragmatism present in the former. It's great to have high hopes and do your bit to influence its production in whatever small way you can, but at the same time its worth remembering that we don't actually have a "right" to get a great game; what we have is a privilege to be getting any rugby games at all. Now, I've long argued that the IRB (and the NRL in the case of RL) should take an active role in funding and developing a rugby game as video games represent a wonderful marketing opportunity that could help grow the market. Unfortunately they don't see this, and what we're left with is the unfortunate situation we have endured for the last decade in which the Rugby gaming market has proved too small and unprofitable to warrant serious competition. This is where the problem lies. It's not that there haven't been enough rugby fans out there putting in good ideas and wanting great results, it's simply that previous rugby games haven't been successful enough to justify both the budgets and outside competition to truly develop a top class game. These are the things that drive up quality.
