The Harlequins try scoring hero from the 2011 Amlin Challenge Cup Final, Gonzalo Camacho has agreed to terms with fellow English premiership club, the Exeter Chiefs with whom he will join following Rugby World Cup 2011 on a two year deal. Camacho´s move to the Chiefs follows two seasons with the Harlequins and a failure between the player and club to agree on a contract extention. Camacho is rumoured to have also been approached by fellow English side, Worcester and a number of French clubs. His move to Exeter will see him link up with uncapped Argentine flyhalf, Ignacio Mieres.

Gonzalo Camacho has played six tests for Argentina and played for his country in ten non-internationals, most recently vs the French Barbaians in a home match earlier this month. He has scored four tries in this six test appearances. He is likely to start for Los Pumas on the wing in New Zealand 2011.

How comes Mieres is uncapped? The Pumas can't afford to waste a young flyhalf IMO

Hard to get picked when he is up against Juan Martín Hernández, Santiago Fernández, Felipe Contepomi and Marcelo Bosch. Plus now a new guy from Los Pampas XV, Nicholas Sanchez.

Sucks to be us, great to be the Chiefs.
As I understand it, it was the salary cap that caused problems with re-signing him...

Ah well, at least this means Chisholm will get more opportunities next season.

Chisholm or Sam Smith or Stegman could cover wing really well but tackling skills and defensive work of Camacho will (probably) be miss

Good sign for Chiefs
